"So what happens from here?" I asked.

I couldn't sleep so I decided to go for a walk. I saw the light on in Alpha Viktor's office and decided to pay him a visit.

First we have to gather all the evidence by conducting interviews with all the victims, find potential witnesses and interview the accused," he said. "Next, we send all of our evidence to the council. The council then reviews the evidence and makes a decision on what, if any, punishment is appropriate."

"What do you think is likely to happen?" I asked.

"Most likely I think he would be put to death, but there is a chance that they spare him and send him to prison," he said. "Since this happened on my lands, I will have a vote and a seat on the council. I can assure you, I will be asking for death."

"What about all the girls?" I asked "What's going to happen with them?"

"The girls will receive counseling," he said. "I think we'll have to call in some specialists from other packs but they'll receive all the attention they need."

"But they don't get a say in what happens to him?"

"Unfortunately no,'' he said. "If we're smart with our interview questions, their opinions will be noted there."

"When will we know what they decide?" I asked.

"This process moves surprisingly fast so we should know in 2 weeks," he said. "I will have to leave to take my seat on the council."

"How come you can't just decide what happens to him?" I asked.

"There's a treaty that was signed about fifty years ago that states an Alpha is only to make decisions like that in times of war," he said. "If he were attacking my pack and he committed these crimes, it would be up to me to decide what happens to him."

"But since he was a pack member shouldn't you be able to decide?" I asked.

"You would think so, but I like to have my judgments fair and unbiased, that's why I use the council," he said. "But yes. It is my responsibility to decide how to punish my pack members."

"I get it now," I said.

"Good because I have a question for you," he said.

"Shoot," I said.

"Why did you ask that man what the Moon Goddess looked like?" He asked

"I don't know how to answer that," I said.

"Why don't you try being honest?" He asked.

"When have I been dishonest?" I asked.

"Gee, I don't know, Diana. When have you been dishonest?" He said sarcastically.

"Fair enough. I guess I was just curious," I said.

"Curious about what?" He asked. "He was lying. Why did it matter what he said about the Moon Goddess?"

"I just needed to know how far his lies went," I said.

"You know I can feel that you're not telling me everything, right?" He asked. "I can feel you lying."

"No I didn't. That doesn't make sense," I said.

"No it doesn't. That's why I'm hoping you can shed some light on this," he said.

"Why don't you ask your wolf?" I suggested.

"I did. My wolf said I should ask you," he said.

Joyana, you need to be careful here.
