It took a few days but after a while Viktor finally said what was bothering him.

"When it comes to our kids, how about neither you nor I do anything without discussing it with the other," he said.

"You really have that big of a problem with me burning his picture?" I asked.

"My problem is that you burned his picture and then a wolf cried out," he said.

"How is that my fault? What does that have to do with what we did?" I asked.

"Really Joyana? You don't think maybe they were connected. Maybe our son shouldn't be drawing pictures of the Moon God or his wolf," he said, getting angry.

"He draws what comes into his head. What do you want me to do? Tell him not to draw?" I asked, angry as well.

"No. What I want you to do is to tell him to stop all this nonsense," he said.

"It's not nonsense. He knows things. It doesn't matter that he's a little boy," I said.

"But that's my point. He's a little boy. He should be allowed to be a little boy and not have to worry about mommy being taken by some Moon God. Who knows what else he's seen," Viktor spat, turning red.

"Is that what you're worried about? You are worried that I'm going to leave you," I asked.

"Of course I'm worried about you leaving me but that has nothing to do with this. You think I want my son seeing something like that? I saw what he was doing to you. My son doesn't need to see that," he said.

"I don't know what to tell you. I didn't give him these powers and I can't take them away," I said.

"Maybe Eloise can help me. Maybe there's something she can do to suppress his gifts until he is older," he said.

"Maybe she can't, but did you ever think that maybe our son doesn't want it gone. It's all he knows," I said.

"He can learn new things. Different ways of living," he said.

"You're being really stubborn and stupid right now,' I said.

"Call me what you want. I'll be stupid, Joyana, and I will protect my family," he said, fiercely.

At that point he stormed off and I was left there feeling confused and angry. Why is he acting like it's my fault our son has this gift? If anything, it's more of a curse than a gift yet I'm the one responsible? How was I supposed to know that the Moon God was so close?

Right because their lair isn't far and we still haven't gone there. Maybe he was howling because he discovered the book was gone. How am I supposed to know and why am I responsible? If he knows the books gone that means he'll be coming for it. What do I do? I'll have to get it from Eloise.

I went down the Eloise's cottage but she wasn't there. Neither was the book. Where could she be? I went to go find Annabel and my kids. They were down eating breakfast so I joined them. I had a ham and cheese omelette and some toast. Viktor always ordered my breakfast for me and today I guess he wants me eating protein. I opened up the mindlink.

Viktor?

Yes?

Will you go for a run with me today?

Of course. We'll do it later. I'll let you know.
