"Do one thing for me. Could you look at those diaries? Just read the diaries they'll tell you everything you need to know. I know you looked at them before but you were just looking for stuff about the Moon Goddess. You never looked for me, Jace. Read them and you'll know I'm telling you the truth. I'll take you home now, if you can make that promise to me," he said.

"I promise I'll read the diaries," I said.

Thank you," he said, just dropping me off at the pack house and then disappearing.

We hadn't even gone far but it felt like we did. I guess he was driving around in circles but I was too scared to notice.

Viktor was nearly beside himself. His car was gone, I was not the shop, I wasn't anywhere and he was freaked out.

"Where have you been?" He asked, angrily.

"I was kidnapped a little," I said, not sure what to call what happened.

"A little? Try a lot. Kidnapped by who, the Moon God? I'm getting really sick of this shit. You're my wife. You're my mate. Why does he keep getting in between us?" He asked.

"I don't know," I said, honestly.

"That's it. You're quitting," he said.

"I don't think that's the best idea," I said.

"Oh really and why not?" He asked, skeptically.

"Because if I work the job at least he's away from the pack. It's not hurting anybody. He brought me back. I think it's safer this way," I said.

"I don't want you anywhere near him. Do you not understand that?" He asked.

"I do but wouldn't you rather have it be on our terms?" I asked.

"This is ridiculous. These are not our terms. They're still his terms. You need to give up this job and stay at home where you belong," he said.

"Could you please just trust me. I know what I'm doing," I said.

"Joyana, none of us know what we're doing. Nothing like this has happened before," he said.

"But it has. It's all in the diaries. Can I ask you a question? If you had the opportunity to get rid of our mate bond and create a new one with whoever you wanted, would you?" I asked, nervously.

"No I wouldn't. How many times do I have to tell you? I don't want anybody else. You're the only one for me," he said. "On another note, my sister's coming to visit. She'll be here in about a week."

"Well that's nice. We haven't seen her in years. I thought you guys used to visit all the time,' I said.

"She'll come here, I'll go there but you're right we haven't seen her in a while," he said. "I guess that is pretty weird."

"For now, I'm going to look at the diaries," I said.

"Do what you want, Joyana. You always do," he said, sounding dejected.

I gave him one last look before I made my way upstairs. Then I remembered that the books burned when the pack house did.

I decided to call my Mom and see if she could send me some of the diaries. She didn't answer so I left a message asking her to call me.

I grabbed my skin to skin carrier and went to pick up Addison. They were in the rec room playing with blocks. Annabel was holding Addison. I plucked her from one carrier to another.

"Did you find out yet Mommy?" Ezra asked.

"Find what out, little?" I asked.

"The truth about the bad man?" He asked.
