5 years earlier. The day I returned home...
I returned home to a horrific sight. My town had been decimated. The stores I remember going to for penny candy were gone. My highschool where I got my education. The homes of my family and loved ones. I was in shock and awe. Tears started rolling down my face as I stared in horror. All that was going through my mind was this can't be happening to me. This isn't real. This is all just a dream. I'll wake up and I'll be back over in Afghanistan ready to take an order from the lieutenant. I never woke up. This was all real. "No way... NO FUCKING WAY!," I yelled. I could see Brayden's eyes filled with tears and his jaw dropped open. We both couldn't believe this. This can't be... this just can't be real. I gave the pilot directions to my house. I was relieved to find the Supra parked out front of the house. When we landed, I jumped out of the helicopter. I ran to the Supra and started to cry. This time tears of joy. I saw Aubrey and Oliver huddled inside of the car. I went over and tapped on the window. Aubrey jumped back. Her eyes were wide and bloodshot. She had been crying. When she looked at me, she began to relax. She unlocked the door and got out of the car with Oliver in her arms. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her close. She began to shake and cry. "I thought you were dead," she said with a shaky voice. "I thought you were too," I said with an equally shaky voice. "What happened? Is mom ok?," I asked. She looked at me with a frown on her face. " The government has been eliminating towns and cities at random all across the globe. We were just an unlucky target." "As for your mom, she wasn't lucky..." My eyes grew wide and I was stunned. "Sh... she's dead?," I asked barely able to get the words out of your mouth. "Uh huh;" she said as a new wave of tears emerged from her eyes. I was saddened, but quickly grew angry. "That's the last fucking straw. Those bastards will pay for what they have done. I will kill every last fucking one if it's the last thing I do."Brayden came over and I filled him in with the details. We found the remnants of an old house and sat down. IO held Oliver in my arms for the first time. He was so warm and full of life in this dead, barren town. There wasn't much left. The town had a population of around 1,000. The population now was just around 100. After seeing the destruction the government had caused, I vowed I'd stop at nothing to bring it down...
This is where my campaign against the government began. I'd accumulate quite the group of people to help me in my efforts. It was with these people that I'd take on the higher power and hopefully be successful...
