One month after finding Samson and Denise...

It was an early Friday morning when I was awaken by a loud banging noise. I got out of bed to go check out what was going on. As I got closer to the door, it got louder and louder. It wasn't anything hitting the door, though. It sounded like it was coming from a house a few doors down. When I opened the door I discovered a military vehicle parked only a few houses down with soldiers banging on the door of a tan house. We didn't really know who lived where anymore, so we couldn't tell who they were after. I went back inside quietly closing the door. I went and grabbed a high powered carbine we had acquired and attached a silencer. I went to the second floor and began set up a comfortable gun stand. I aimed and took out a soldier hanging out behind the vehicle. It was a heavily armored vehicle that could be a huge asset to our effort. Behind that I noticed a second vehicle. It was a shoddy truck, but it carried supplies. I picked off another that was on the side of the truck that no one could see. I went downstairs and woke up Brayden, Samson, and Tim. They picked up their rifles and also equipped silencers. Before we could get into position, there was yelling and a man, his wife, and his son were being pulled out of the house. The soldier grabbed the man and forced the woman and child on their knees. The man kept pleading with the soldiers, but before he could save them, they were both shot in the back of the head. This caused us to snap. We went out and opened fire taking out 4 of the roughly 15 soldiers left standing. We had a plan worked out for small skirmishes like these. Brayden and I would take the right while Samson and Tim would take the left. Brayden took out two more and I had taken another out. Tim and Samson took out 5 more guys.I picked one more off and the fighting stopped. I swear there were more. All of a sudden all of us were grabbed and forced to the ground. "You bastards thought you had us, huh?" he said angrily. "You pigs thought you could mess with us?! HUH!." He was shouting at the top of his lungs. "This is your fucking end. Say goodbye to your friends and family." I heard guns raising. I was shaking and sweating. So this is it. This is how I'll die. I took a deep breath and relaxed. I heard gunshot and felt something wet. Did they miss my vitals? I wasn't in pain at all. I stood up slowly and found that there were six dead behind us. Standing on the porch of the house were Denise and Aubrey. "Am I glad I showed you how to shoot one of those," I said in relief. "I'm glad I got here in time." She ran down and hugged me. "Who's that guy?," Denise asked. "I don't know yet, but he was being attacked by the military so we thought we'd help." The man slowly picked himself up. Tim went over and helped him the rest of the way up. "Thank you," he murmured. "No problem," replied Tim. "What's your name?," Tim asked. "My name is Riker," he said. "Nice to meet you Riker," Tim said. "This is Xavier, Brayden, Samson, Denise, and Aubrey." Oliver poked his head out of the door. "And that little munchkin is Oliver." "Nice to meet you all. I can't thank you enough for saving my life." He began to tear up. "I wish I could've been like you and saved my wife." "You did your best," I said as I walked over. "They had 20 guys armed with rifles. You had your fists and words. You are a true hero for trying at all." "I appreciate the condolences," He said humbly. "Would you like to help us move these vehicles and join us for breakfast?," I asked. "I'd love to. If you need anything, just ask. I have quite a bit of supplies stockpiled." We took the two vehicles and parked them in the driveway. The house we were staying at had a nice sized back yard. Big enough for the helicopter and a few vehicles. On top of that, it had a long driveway that could fit 5-10 vehicles. After we got done with the vehicles, we went inside and made breakfast and told stories...
