The day after arrival back home...
We got ourselves situated in the abandoned home. It was in good condition compared to most of the other homes on the street. All four walls were standing, most of the windows were intact, and it was still a sturdy structure. We even found a supply of bottled water (not much it was two cases, but it was something). We found enough food to last us a good amount of time. Enough time to plan out how we were going to get through this. There were beds and clothes and couches. There were appliances and such, but the electricity was completely gone. Brayden and I had brought weapons home to help defend ourselves in cars of emergencies. We brought over our rifles, sentry turrets that we manually activate, claymores, frags, and whatever other supplies we could get our hands on. Oh, and the pilot of the chopper is staying with us too. He helped us get home, we'll help him survive. Timothy is his name. He agreed to join my anti government campaign. We kept the chopper under 24 hour watch. That was a huge asset in our survival. We could use that against intruders,to get around, and to help in our fight. He told Brayden and I of a couple people he knew that would probably be willing to join the fight. They lived prettt far away, but in the chopper it wouldn't be too long. "They are brother and sister," he told me. "They are fierce and willing to fight. I just need to explain the situation to them and they will most likely join our cause." "Alright, let's go get them," I replied eagerly. I'd take anybody who's willing to fight for the cause. "We'll leave tomorrow early in the morning," I told him. "But first, we need to inform the others. Second, we have to set up a security system for intruders. And lastly, we need to pack supplies for the trip," I said. "Sounds good," he replied. We went into the living room of house to inform Aubrey and Brayden. They agreed with our decision. We made a plan for the trip. We'd go in, try to get them, and get out and back home as soon as possible. After our brief meeting, we began setting up and packing. Brayden and I helped set up the security system while Aubrey and Timothy packed. I walked inside to find Oliver sleeping soundly. Why couldn't the world be like him. Quiet and content. For 3 years old he was a relatively quiet child. He had his energetic moments, but he was a very well behaved child. I went in and gave him a kiss on his forehead . "I hope you like flying," I whispered. I went back to finish setting up the security system. By the time we had finished, it was late and we had decided to get some sleep...
That security system had been a great friend to us. Later that night, someone tried to break in, but got stopped dead in their tracks. That had made me feel a lot safer about the journey tomorrow...
