This has got to be one of the most exciting moments of my life. I have my hands on the steering wheel of my red Ferrari, flying through the abandoned road, and I feel alive from speeding and seeing such a view. Italy is so beautiful.
Don't ask me how, but Taehyung blocked off a road just for me to be able to drive through it without any other vehicles in my way and to feel the purr of the engine underneath my fingers. He definitely has some connections because I don't think just large portions of money would allow him to rent a whole road for an hour.
I drove around the curve, mountain, down the hill, and around another curve. It feels like I'm in Fast & Furious.
Although I love the way it feels, Taehyung's yelling excitedly while his shades are on, and how funny it looks with our hair twirling around, I eventually come to the end of the road where a police officer is waiting with road blockers.
I press on the brake and watch Taehyung roll down his window so the police officer can come over.
The officer bends lower so he can look inside and starts speaking to Taehyung right away.
"È molto tempo che non ci si vede," the officer starts laughing while patting Taehyung on the back as if good friends.
"È passata un'eternità da quando ti ho visto," my eyes widen when Taehyung responds in Italian. I had no idea he could speak other languages.
While they laugh together over something I missed them saying, not that I could understand anyway, Taehyung moves his hand behind my back.
"Questa è la mia bellissima moglie. Siamo appena arrivati per la nostra luna di miele," Taehyung says while the officer makes a surprised, yet happy expression.
He smiles warmly and says something to us, and then moves the road blockers for us to enter the town of Amalfi.
The officer sends us off with the tap of his hat, and I begin driving through the town, but at a slow speed limit.
I drive slowly through the town, while Taehyung points out everything we ride by.
He tells me about small restaurants where they make the perfect desserts such as Cannoli Poke cake, Lemon Ricotta cake, Ricotta cookies, and Chocolate-Pistachio Tartufo.
The way he's describing each flavor makes my tongue melt, and I contemplate just stopping in the middle of the road to have a taste of the delicious-sounding desserts, but I stop myself before I can act on the impulse.
"See that dome over there," he pauses to point ahead from the front window. "That's the Santa Maria Assunta. It's a church from the 13th century, and from what I've been told, pirates brought the dome here," he admits while my lips curve upward.
"There's so much history here. What else is there to see?" I ask a little too quickly, but he just continues talking as if enjoying my happiness.
He goes on to explain more about the tourist attractions, the sights, activities, restaurants, and more while I drive through the town, enjoying every detail he willingly gives.
Taehyung directs me in the direction of the hotel we were going to be staying in, which he admitted was a five-star hotel called Le Sirenuse.
