After Lan Zhan gave him the bouquet he immediately left the kitchen, leaving Wei Ying completely dumbfounded. Once he was alone, he circled the huge bouquet trying to find a card, there was none. He would have liked to ask Lan Zhan how he knew the flowers were for him, but he figured the messenger must have told him. Then, he sat at the kitchen bar alone, racking his brains trying to guess who the sender could be.
Sure, he had lived a somehow sheltered life in terms of dating and whatnot, mainly because he preferred it that way, but even he wasn't that oblivious, this bouquet was sent to show some kind of romantic intentions towards him, but the gist of the matter was who the sender was.
He lost track of the time he spent there observing the bouquet to no avail, it was Jiang Cheng who found him staring at those flowers like they held the answers to all mysteries in the Universe.
"What are you doing?" Jiang Cheng asked him after he entered the kitchen, stilly.
"Whoa!" Wei Ying exclaimed, startled. "When did you get here?"
"In the middle of your trance it seems. What are you doing? You look like a lunatic staring at those flowers to submission," was Jiang Cheng's answer.
"Hey!" Wei Ying made a feeble protest. It was true, he supposed. He must have looked like a loon trying to find his answers in those flowers.
"Well?!" Jiang Cheng insisted, still waiting for an answer. He stood akimbo, frowning at his brother. His eyebrows were raised and he looked at Wei Ying with suspicion.
"I was... forget it!" He gave up his attempt to explain the situation to Jiang Cheng because he wasn't really sure what exactly the situation was. The whole thing was just surreal.
"I won't forget it. Spill!" Jiang Cheng demanded. His statement was far from dissuading Jiang Cheng and he was as stubborn as a freaking mule so Wei Ying knew Jiang Cheng wouldn't let go.
"What? Are you spending time with Xue Yang behind my back? Now you're speaking like him!" Wei Ying countered, going for diversion.
"What?! Heck no! What are you talking about? What do I have to do with your weirdo friend?!" Jiang Cheng protested.
"Hey! Please don't insult him. He's not a weirdo, he's just... unique." Wei Ying defended his friend wholeheartedly.
"Okay," Jiang Cheng yielded. "I'm not exactly in a position to criticize you and your friend choices since my best friend is Nie Huaisang, but still... you seemed bothered by something."
"Well," Wei Ying vacillated for a moment, "I received this bouquet," he finally said, signaling towards the flowers.
"And? I still don't see a problem here," Jiang Cheng was slowly losing his patience.
"And I don't know who sent them!" Wei Ying explained animatedly gesturing with his hands.
"Still not seeing any problem," Jiang Chang reiterated, slowly losing his patience.
"I think...I think someone is courting me," Wei Ying said, sounding doubtful.
"And how is that a problem?" Jiang Cheng wanted to know.
