Natasha's POV

"You should have gone here with Draven to ensure your safety," I frustratedly said to Sayna.

Saya averted her gaze as if avoiding to look into my eyes.

Seeing her reaction made me so much more nervous than I already was.

"Sayna," I called, which sounded out authoritative even if I didn't want it to be, it just came out.

The last thing I want is for Sayna to be upset with me after everything she did for me.

"He doesn't know I left town. No one knows I left and where I went," she whispered, head down, looking at her feet.

I deeply closed my eyes as I massaged my temple upon hearing what she just said.

Why would she do that?!

As much as I love my friend, Sayna, I think she will be the death of me.

"Sayna, please. Please, you have to go home now," I pleaded to Sayna as I held both of her hands tightly. Scared than I have ever been.

"Natasha, but I—"

"Sayna, this is for your own safety. You have been gone for weeks and I know they are probably looking for you already and worried about you," I said quickly cutting her off. "There's a reason behind the fact that you found me coincidentally and not because you tracked me. Don't you understand? Something or hell maybe someone is trying to stop and block you from seeing me. We shouldn't meet here. You should not be with me right now." I heaved a deep sigh. Thousands of thoughts started clouding my mind, making myself confused.

I have so much in my mind but seems like nothing is making sense.

"I'm so glad to see you and I really appreciate you doing your best to find me and wanting to help me, but you have to go home now," I repeated myself.

The more time we spend with each other here right now the more I get scared for Sayna's safety. If something terrible happens to her and it's because of me, I know I would not be able to forgive myself.

"Natasha—"

"Listen." I cut her off once again. "I have to finish my mission and I promise once I successfully did it, I will go home to you guys. I promise you that."

"Natasha." Sayna sobbed, which hurt me so much.

She's my best friend—the sister I never had. And to think that she went risking her safety just to see how I was doing means so much to me.

Seeing tears uncontrollably rolling down her face makes me want to just leave everything that I started here for my mission, turn my back and go home with Sayna.

But, I know I can't. . . Valerian won't let me. We had an agreement. And most importantly, my father made it clear to me that I can't go home without killing Valerian. He's my father but I know there will be consequences if I failed to obey him and I don't know how hard the consequences will be but I know it will wreck me.

"Go, now. Please." I let go of Sayna's hands and I softly pushed her away.

"You promise that?" Sayna looked at me directly in my eyes, almost pleading.

"I promise." I smiled to reassure her. "We will see each other again."

What I said made Sayna smile, which gave me so much relief.

"See you soon," Sayna mouthed as she finally turned her back on me and started walking away without looking back again.

I felt my heart getting heavier and heavier as she slowly fades away from my sight.
