Monday - David's POV
Monday's fucking suck. Waking up at seven in the morning to get dressed for school when you have a killer hangover from a party the day before is not the best feeling in the world. However, since his parents didn't know about the party, skipping school was out of the question. What kind of dumbass has a party on a school night anyway? Even better. What kind of dumbass goes to a party on a school night? This guuuuuuy.
That guy was David Reid. He was a popular and intimidating senior here at Evergreen High that you could easily spot from his height and infamous mullet. He was also apart of Evergreen High's football team; the Evergreen Geckos. Not to brag or anything.
All David wanted was some peace and quiet because of his splitting headache, but in a busy high school that wouldn't be possible. Especially when his best friend, Craig Williams, heartthrob and son of the headmaster, slammed his hands down onto their lunch table, roaring with news.
"Boys! Have you heard the rumour about Chelsea's party?!" Craig was filled with energy, unusual for someone this early on a Monday.
After thirteen years of friendship, David grew to expect these outbursts of energy and excitement from Craig. He was the definition of a golden retriever, down to the blonde hair and smile that could melt your heart. That was until you got to know him. Then you would find out that he's a sneaky little smart ass.
"The one about someone pissing all over the bathroom?" The first person to chime in was Trevor Young. He was star quarterback of the Evergreen Geckos, and known womaniser of Evergreen High.
"No not that, but I heard it was that weirdo Travis. You know, the guy who really likes anime? Anyway, I meant the rumour about that Chris guy! You guys know him. He's the one with the last name no one can say." Hearing Chris' name being mentioned caused David to both involuntarily smile and tune out of the conversation and think to himself.
Everyone knew who Chris last name was. Our friend group wasn't the only popular crowd in this building, there was another. Look at it this way! There are the jocks and the mean girls, that's our group, and right below us are the valedictorians and smartie pants, that being Chris' group. He was a tall guy but was still shorter than me, probably around 6'1 whereas I am 6'3, not to mention the nice full brown hair he had that was styled in a kind of pompadour that honestly suited his vibe.
"Well.. apparently people saw him making out with someone from Ridgeback. Normally I wouldn't give a fuck about this, but he wasn't kissing just anyone. He was kissing Damien Morales! Bro! He's fucking gay!"
The sudden mention of Chris engaging in some gay activities caused David to tune back into the conversation. It's not every day that you hear a scandal like this about one of the popular students. He was truly shocked. A homosexual? At Evergreen High? It's more likely than you think.
I've known Craig for majority of our lives and I can confidently tell you that he isn't homophobic. For some strange reason, he's been obsessed with the idea of having a friend that's gay, or somewhere on the LGBT-spectrum. Little did he know... there was a little fruity pebble right under his nose.
"Who's fucking gay?" A much softer voice appeared that belonged to Courtney Adams. She was the head cheerleader and all American girl. "Is this about Christopher? Craig, I told you not to tell anyone about that because it most likely isn't true!"
"Yeah yeah... we all know you're just saying that because you want to date him." Craig fired back which earned him a jab in the arm from Chelsea. She can deny it all she wants but we've all seen the way she looks at Chris.
"Speaking of dates!" The conversation was quickly diverted from Courtney to David by one of his closest friends, Chelsea Miller. She was the queen of Evergreen High. Even though she wasn't in any clubs or sports teams, she was the main party animal of our highschool and everyone knew about her. "David! How has your love life been lately? I heard from the party that Madeline was eyeing you the whole night and I think she wants you back. What do you think?"
