Thursday - David's POV
"On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair."
David's eyes slowly opened to his ears being serenaded by the opening lyrics of Hotel California by Eagles that was playing through the speaker of his phone from his alarm. He sloppily rolled over onto his side and slumped an arm on the nightstand to turn off his alarm before rolling back over to stare up at the ceiling. There was a moment of silence in the room until David rolled back onto his side to turn Hotel California back on to accompany him while he got ready for school.
For the first time in a long long while, David woke up not hating life and everything it had to offer. He could still feel the effects of last night's date lingering on him and giving him this warm feeling throughout his body. It took him a few minutes to realise that he was back in his own bed and Chris was nowhere in sight.
Jesus... how did I get home last night? I don't remember a thing. Well, I do remember how good it felt to have someone to cuddle with when you went to sleep. Now that I know what that feels like, I miss it. Damnit, I was hooked on it now.
"What the fuck has this guy done to me?" This question had been in David's mind over these few days considering Chris. David's past girlfriends never really made him feel anything but mild annoyance during their relationships and he viewed them as moreso being leeches sucking the life out of him, and not in the fun way. In all honesty, he did think the same thing would happen with Chris.
When they first started dating, David thought this relationship would play out the same as the others so he kept his distance. However, that wasn't the case at all. Chris had this fire about him. This confidence he exudes that made David desire to be with him. I mean, hey, he had the balls to break up with the king of Evergreen High and David wasn't used to that, not in the slightest. He was the one that broke hearts, not the one with the broken heart. This was the first time in the entirety of his dating life that he actually fought for a relationship and you know what? It felt right.
David spent a few more minutes thinking about his lovely boyfriend and the joy that being together brought him until his second alarm went filled the room with its noise, cutting Hotel California off short. David turned off his alarm and paused the song to continue it on the walk to school before he went for a quick shower.
The warm water pelting against David's skin brought a sense of relaxation over the boys body as he stood there with his eyes closed, slowly drifting off to sleep while the water ran down his body. He slipped in and out of consciousness and gently swayed from side to side until he leaned too close to the wall and knocked a bottle off the shelf, the loud bang completely waking him up. With him now being snapped out of his sleepy daze, David washed his hair and finished up his shower.
The mandatory uniform was something that David hated about school. He hated having to make an effort into being presentable and wearing those dress shirts didn't help at all, plus in his eyes the itchy sweater made him look like a dork. He was thankful that being on the football team granted him access to the Evergreen High letterman jackets so he wasn't hassled about not wearing the sweaters if he wore the jacket. Being best friends with the headmasters son helped avoid teachers wrath regarding uniform which David truly did appreciate.
David bounced down the stairs with a strange new spring in his step from this new found joy of a happy relationship as he sauntered into the kitchen where his mother was. With about ten minutes to spare before he had to leave if he wanted to arrive to school on time, not wanting to have another run in with the warriors at the office because of his tardiness, David decided to have himself some quick breakfast.
"You look happy," David was caught off guard with an apple stuffed in his mouth, looking like one of those roasted pigs from a cartoon as he turned to face his mother, "did your date go well?"
