Saturday - David's POV

Talk about blinding lights, and not The Weekend kind.

As David slowly regained consciousness from sleeping, he opened his eyes and immediately squinted to shield his eyes from the blinding rays that were shining through the window. See kids, this is what happens when you don't listen to your boyfriend. Chris did say to close the curtains before we went to sleep, but I said the moonlight helped me sleep so we kept them open. Now, before you go assuming I'm afraid of the dark, first of all, fuck you, second of all, don't think that because I'm not afraid of the dark. I just like being able to see things, y'know? Like, what if I need to get up to take a piss but can't see where I'm going? See, you didn't think about that.

David rolled over into his right side to escape the sunlight and cuddle his boyfriend who was currently still sleeping. Ignoring all the bad things that have happened recently, life with Chris was perfect. We've been dating for a little over a month now and even if it isn't my longest relationship so far, I feel a way about Chris that I didn't with my girlfriends. He was different... and not just because he was a guy. I can tell that I actually loved Chris. Every moment I'm with him I feel so happy, but when we aren't together I just feel empty and alone. He just fills up this part of me that no other person could. Maybe he could fill up this other part of me too, but that's besides the point.

David propped himself up against his elbow and longingly looked at the Scotsman, watching his chest slowly rise and fall with every breath he took. As creepy as it sounded, I enjoyed watching him. He just looked so peaceful and at ease during these moments.

Let me fill you in on a secret. The truth is, I've had my eye on Chris for a while. We've had a brief encounter before and it made me notice guys even more than the incident during Sophomore year with Devin. But based on his reaction in the library when I asked him out, I don't think he remembers this encounter. I do, though. That's why he was my prime candidate when I finally discovered that he was gay. I can picture it now, Junior year, December...

"Dude, are you gonna help or not?" David was snapped out of his thoughts by Craig who was staring up at him while trying to pick up some boxes.

"Shit, sorry." David hopped off of the stack of mats he was sitting on in the PE cupboards and helped Craig by picking up a box while he stacked another on top. The two walked out of the cupboard with the boxes and made their way to the exit.

"Was your adventure nice?"

"What?"

Craig sighed as he leaned against the doors of the gym hall to hold it open while David passed through. "What were you thinking about that got you so distracted?"

"You already know the answer."

Craig groaned and tossed his heads back to stare up at the ceiling while they walked towards the coach's office. "Dude, don't get yourself worked up over her. She was a snake that doesn't deserve you."

"I know that! It's just... I thought she'd be different than the other girls. I thought I'd maybe feel something this time."

"Don't worry about it. Hey, maybe you're just gay and don't know it yet." Craig looked back and grinned at David which earned him a kick to the back of the leg that almost sent him to the floor.

"I'm not gay you douche!"

"Language, Mr Reid."

"Sorry coach!" David sheepishly looked away from Coach Williams and sidestepped past him into the office where the boys sat the boxes in the corner with the rest.
