Wednesday - David's POV
Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. God fucking damnit!
David sat at his usual lunch table with his group of friends who were all having deep and meaningful conversations that David was paying not a slight bit of attention to. He was drowning out every conversation in the busy cafeteria, his attention was fixed on the screen of his phone as he stared down at the breakup text that Chris had just sent him. As he replayed the words in his head, he couldn't help but rant to himself.
What was this bullshit?! First of all, what kind of dick breaks up over text?! Second of all, no one breaks up with David Reid. I'm the one who does the dumping and heartbreaking. Third of all, what the fuck was Chris talking about? I'm not afraid of anyone and I couldn't give a shit if people knew about our relationship or not. So what if we don't go out on dates? That's shit you do with girls, not guys. Right?
"Yo, David! The fuck are you looking all sad for? It's bumming the rest of us out."
David was snapped out of his self loathing by another member of their friend group, Dean Ramirez. He was the star member of the Evergreen Geckos and was probably the fastest of all of us. He was also the sweetheart and charmer of the group with the amount of girls that swoon over his charm.
"Huh?"
"Why are you so sad? C'mon friend, where's that big smile of yours?"
"Fucking nowhere. Do you really expect me to smile after I've just been dumped?"
The sound of utensils hitting trays filled the entire table as everyone stared at David completely slack-jawed. He looked at them all and sighed, running a hand through his messy mullet before clearing his throat in preparation of telling his friends about his love life.
"Yeah yeah, David Reid is dating again, big fucking shocker. Well it doesn't matter anyway because they just dumped me."
"Why were you dumped? Can't she see you're so charming and such a catch?" Chelsea appeared from nowhere, now behind David as she gave him a quick hug in an attempt to comfort her friend which earned her a pat on the arm from David.
"Apparently fucking not. Some bullshit about me being too scared of our relationship becoming public. Why the fuck would I be afraid of people knowing I'm dating someone? It's not like I get bullied or anything! If anyone's got a problem I'll beat their ass."
Chelsea snapped her fingers in David's face to stop his rambling before she fixed her blazer and sat down Infront of the boy. "See! That right there is the fire you should be showing her. You clearly don't want the relationship to end, and you obviously aren't afraid of people knowing, so why don't you show her that you aren't scared of people knowing?"
David raised an eyebrow of genuine interest at Chelsea's proposition. It wasn't a bad plan, not in the slightest.
"She's right dude," chimed in Craig as he slumped down next to David and tossed an arm over his shoulder. "If you really do love them, then go up to them right now and show that you aren't afraid of people knowing. They've got to be in here somewhere. The cafeteria is pretty packed today."
David slowly nodded at his friends as he thought about the plan before his nods quickened and turned into that of agreement. He scanned the cafeteria and searched for Chris' group of friends, eventually spotting them standing just a few tables down talking to people. David stood up with a sudden burst of confidence, almost tripping over the seat before charging down the cafeteria towards the group while his friends cheered for him as he walked away.
As David got closer to the group, he saw him. There he was. Christopher last name, standing with his friends and talking about something that brought happiness to his face. You could tell he was happy by how noticeable his dimples were. Seeing those features that he missed so much caused a pang of guilt and attraction to hit his chest. Fuck... I missed seeing those. David couldn't appreciate Chris' features for much longer as one of his friends tapped his shoulder and pointed in David's direction, Chris now making eye contact with the jock as he approached.
