Thursday - David's POV

David could barely focus in all of his classes. He kept to himself the entire time and moved like a ghost from class to class up until Math that was right before lunch. His time was spent planning out how he would come out to his dad and bring Chris into the picture. He didn't want to shock his dad with the reveal so maybe introduce Chris as a friend for a while? No, he already knows Chris is gay and doesn't want his son hanging around with him. Maybe bring Chris over one day posing as a partner in a project for school? He can see that Chris isn't who he thinks he is and will see that gay people aren't as bad as he thought! Maybe that could work.

David was snapped out of his thoughts by the ringing of the lunch bell sounding throughout the corridors. He packed up his things and started to leave the class until the teacher, Mrs Smith, quickly stopped him and asked for him to stay behind for a moment. He reluctantly agreed and sat on a desk as the class cleared out.

"Thank you, David. I just wanted to check and make sure everything is alright? I can tell your mind has been somewhere else for the entire lesson."

Mrs Smith was one of the few teachers that genuinely cared about her students. When she wasn't teaching Maths, she was the guidance counsellor for the students. Her motherly trusting vibe resulted in her becoming the favourite teacher amongst the majority of the students here, including David.

"Yeah... I think everything's okay. It's just some relationship troubles. Nothing I can't handle."

"More girl troubles?"

For some reason David started to feel a wave of embarrassment sweep over him as his cheeks flushed a bright red. "Uhm... quite the opposite actually."

"What do you mean?" Mrs Smith was never one to assume anything. It was part of her kind nature, let the students explain what they meant and never judge them for it.

"Well... I've kind of got a boyfriend. Somehow that's brought more trouble with girls than actually dating them."

Mrs Smith immediately brightened at this news and gave the boy a very cool fist bump of approval. When David first discovered his interest in boys, he decided to confide in Mrs Smith for advice since she was very vocal about her support for LGBTQ students. He felt safe when talking to her. She was someone he trusted and knew would respect his privacy.

"Well done David! Who is he? Is he in this class?"

"He isn't in this one but he might be in another math class you teach. His name is Christopher... McSomething?"

"Oooh, Christopher McCorquodale? Aw, he's a lovely boy. You've really struck gold there David. So what are these girl troubles?"

"Well... my friend," David paused for a moment to reflect on his choice of words, "this girl that's part of my friend group, Courtney Adams, she's had a crush on Chris for years even though she knew he was gay. Our relationship became public a few days ago and she feels as if I betrayed her because I took away the guy she loved."

"Huh, I see. Well it sounds to me that she is a bit entitled. Maybe I should call her down for an appointment to discuss this. Look, David. At the end of the day, you're with the man you love and that's all that matters, right?"

David nodded in agreement. It didn't matter how much Courtney bitched about missing out on such a stud. David had him now and he wasn't going to let him go so easily.

"Great! Okay, I better let you go before you miss lunch. Thank you for sharing this with me David. Remember, my door is always open if you want to talk."

David thanked Mrs Smith for the conversation before grabbing his things and walking out of the class and towards his locker. Once he put away his things, he made his way down the halls towards Chris' locker so he could update him on the Courtney situation. He rounded the corner but froze as he saw Craig standing with Chris as the two spoke about something that caused Craig to do his signature "I'm into you" laugh that's followed by a pat on the shoulder. The sight of his presumably straight best friend flirting with his boyfriend made his eyebrows slowly dip in anger and annoyance. What the fuck? Was this dick hitting on my man?
