After going to Professor Sprout's greenhouse, we put down our earmuffs and walked out with all our housemates. Brianna cringed disgustedly. I looked at her weirdly. "What?" I asked. She huffed, rubbing her arms. "Those mandrakes really creep me out. Not to mention their squeals." She said. Unfortunately she is kinda right. I've only seen pictures of them in our textbooks. Harry and Ron kept talking excitedly about flying lessons while Hermione read a small book on magical creatures. It reminded me of my grandfather who's a magizoologist. Newt Scamander. I used to explore his hut of many magical creatures when I was either seven or nine. "Nice book." I said, smirking. She looked up and smiled. "Thanks! It's called Magical Beasts and Where to Find Them. It is well written by the magizoologist Newt Scamander." She told me. Harry smiled. "That's Sky's grandfather." He added. All except Brianna stared at me in shock. She smiled widely. "That would be true since your mom's last name is Scamander. Oh my god! You must tell me if you've seen a magical creature or in fact magical insects! Any kind you like?" She ranted. Ron smirked. "Give her a minute to breathe, would ya?" He joked. She rolled her eyes. I laughed. "My favorite beast is the Hippogriff. I've loved them so much. I've always wondered what it be like if I were to fly on one. Harry was always the Hippogriff I rode on." I said. We laughed. He rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Oh for Merlin's sake, you begged me to." He said. I stuck my tongue out and pouted. "Not true!" I quickly said. He nodded in disagreement. Brianna scoffed, raising an eyebrow. "Aren't Hippogriffs wild animals? If you're not careful you could get bitten or scratched." She said. Hermione growled. "If only you'd understand if you're an animal being caged or stowed away on a ship just because people make assumptions that you're 'dangerous' or harmful to muggles." She sassed. Awkward silence rocked the circle. Brianna looked down and fiddled with textbook pages. Time to cut the tension. I cleared my throat. "Whatever the means, I hope we see different creatures in second year or third year. Grandpa's been so busy across America with his new 'pet friends'. It gets even more awesome in the summer when he come visit!" I said, cheering at the last part. Harry smiled warmly while probably remembering the times when he came and brought a new insect or animal. One of them's Niffey. My original nickname. Little droplets began falling down. We shared confusion. It's raining? Hermione sighed. "They said it'll be drizzling half an hour so don't worry about flying class." She said. We breathed a breath of relief. Ron pulled out a small magicked umbrella which imploded into its regular size. He opened, putting it over his head. BAM! Sudden insects and bugs fell on him including giant drops of whip cream. Our eyes widened as we laughed. Ron stared at the mess disgustedly. Harry held his stomach from laughing. My brain clicked. That was the twins's prank. Stuffing his umbrella with random insects and whip cream. Impressive! He quickly wiped the bugs off his shoulders and shook off drips of cream. "Eww! Eww! Bloody hell!" He whined. Harry smirked at me and crossed his arms. I smiled innocently. "What? It really wasn't me." I told him. Hermione sighed. "Fred and George, right?" She asked. I nodded before giggling crazily. Brianna chuckled as Professor Sprout led us back inside the castle. Ron was surely gonna suffer Fred and George's jokes later. The drizzling rain was disappearing while lunchtime was beginning to start. The sunniness was lifting up really fast. Ron used a cleaning spell to clean his robes. My phone suddenly buzzed from my pocket. Oh shit! Mom was texting me.
Mom♥️✨: when are u sending letters hon?
Mom♥️✨: how's your week going? LOL
Mom♥️✨: how's Harry?
I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled.
Sky🤪😎: I'll let u know everything once the week is over😉
Mom♥️✨: great! Make sure McGonagall does not see your phone and DON'T bring it to class
Sky🤪😎: k! Bye mommy!
I slipped it back in my pocket and looked up to see everyone's confusion except Harry. Brianna gasped shockingly. "You got a phone?!" She whispered/yelled. "A what?" Ron asked confusedly. Hermione huffed. "She has her own iPhone." Harry corrected. Seamus raised an eyebrow weirdly. "You brought your phone here?" He asked. I rolled my eyes. "Relax. I don't bring it to classes every day. Dad would've made me leave it at home but Mom insisted I take it with me." I said. "Why?" Dean asked. I chuckled. "So I could send her pictures of my uniforms and Quidditch matches if she misses one." I slightly joked. They laughed. Seamus smirked. "Sounds like something my Mom would do." He added. Maybe I could snap pictures on Snapchat with everyone. My parents don't want me to have Instagram at this age. Harry smiled sweetly. "That's brilliant. We could take pictures anytime we want." He said. I madly blushed. "Yeah...we can." I said shyly. Hermione looked down and smirked. "How about we take selfies right now?" Brianna suggested. Ron smiled. "Blimey, cool!" He added. I returned the gesture and pulled out my phone. Everyone including the twins gathered close to me. I smiled widely. "Ready?" I asked. "Yeah!" They said in unison. I snapped the picture before slipping my phone in my pocket. "Aren't ya gonna show us?" George asked. Hermione almost spoke until Professor McGonagall and a few teachers settled down for lunch. Harry sighed. "That's why." He told him. Brianna checked her mascara and lips. "At least I looked good." She said proudly. We rolled our eyes.

In our dorm room, I took off my lipgloss and bracelets except my small earrings. Flying could possibly mean fall and earn a injury or get your face smashed on the dirt. I saved our group selfie on my gallery before pulling my broom out and zipped up my robe. My godfather really got cool taste.
"Who gave you that?" A voice called. I turned to see Brianna near the doorway. She raised an eyebrow and smirked. "It sure looks like a new broom." She said. I smiled nervously. "What? It's not new! It's perfectly old!" I lied. She smiled deviously and crossed her arms. "That's the Nimbus 2000, right? The broom Sirius got you for your birthday. Does Harry know?" She asked. Harry didn't care I got a new broom on my birthday because I knew I needed one to learn how to fly. I growled. "True. Harry does know. Wanna know another thing? Nobody cares! I never had a broom my whole life and my awesome godfather got me a present like all godparents do. No matter if it's brand new or not. You would've understood Brianna if you actually showed up to our parties. You're just too cold and nasty to let me be happy." I growled. Brianna shrugged while sighing. "Honestly, Skylar let's not be too dramatic." She said meanly. Dramatic? I'm dramatic? I rolled my eyes and grabbed my broom. "Says the girl that cried during the Lion King." I sassed, leaving the room. She huffed. "It was emotional!" She yelled.
