Morning sunrise shone through our room windows as I awaken groggily. It's blinding light flashed my sleep-filled face. Ugh! Too much! I rubbed my eyes repeatedly and stretched. I yawned, grabbing my phone off the nightstand. The girls were still sleep soundlessly. I checked the time. Saturday, 7:03am. Finally. A weekend of no homework. Wait!
Saturday? OMG! The quidditch game! I smiled while pushing the covers off my body and stood on top of the bed. It's quidditch day! Our first year quidditch game! I cheered happily and climbed onto Hermione's bed. I began jumping repeatedly.
"WAKE UP! ITS QUIDDITCH DAY! WAKE UP!" I yelled excitingly. She bursted awake and groaned.
"Skylar, it's too early. Wait a few hours." She mumbled in her morning voice. I looked at her weirdly. "It's 7am." I said. Her eyes shot open as she quickly pushed the blankets and hopped off the bed. She rolled out of bed and stretched. "Alrighty then. Happy Quidditch day." She said, smiling tiredly. I giggled softly before climbing on Brianna's bed and jumping crazily. "WAKE UP! ITS QUIDDITCH DAY! WAKE UP!" I yelled. She growled through gritted teeth and placed the pillow above her head. "She'll go away. She'll go away." She mumbled to herself. I laughed. "QUIDDITCH DAY IS HERE!" I cheered. Brianna fake smiled. "Yes, Quidditch day is here. The most special day for all houses. You know what could make this morning greater?" She asked. Hermione almost spoke until Brianna whacked me repeatedly with her pillow. "If I get more sleep!" She complained tiredly. I crossed my arms and huffed. "Cmon, you can't miss the game! This match is Gryffindors vs. Slytherins. Harry practiced all week so he needs his ultimate weapon." I said. They looked at me confusedly. "A broom?" She asked weirdly. I nodded my head no but grabbed her arm. "Our support duh. Now leave your sleep paradise and get up." I said. She ignored, snuggling against her pillow. "Nothing will ever make me leave this giant wondrous bed." She mumbled. I fake smiled, crossing my arms. "I said Slytherins are playing in the game today." I said. Brianna pushed the covers off and hopped out of bed. She stretched while smiling. "Happy Quidditch day!" She said cheerily. Hermione rolled her eyes as she rushed to the bathroom. After freshening up, I applied makeup and rigged through the dresser. I slipped on my nice uniform, combed my long hair and sprayed a little perfume.
Hermione sighed. "Honestly, why do you wear makeup Sky? You're beautiful without it!" She said. I smiled confidently. "I only wear makeup to look presentable and for occasions like the Quidditch game. Trust me I adore my original self." I said. She chuckled quietly. "Thank Merlin." She muttered. Brianna came out of the bathroom wearing her makeup, a perfectly wrapped bun and shiny blue diamond necklace. She smiled cheerily. "I'm in a great mood for this awesome day!" She said. Only because she wants to cheer for Slytherins but at least she's awake. I fake smiled while placing my wand in my pocket. "Yup! The moment you could cheer for green flags." I joked. She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm a Gryffindor." She sassed. I laughed. "You are so cross!" I said. She huffed irritatingly. Hermione cleared her throat firmly. "What did we say about you two getting along?" She asked. "Sorry, Hermione." We said in unison. "Good! Now let's have breakfast and no more practical insults." She said. We gathered our backpacks and left the room.*****
We walked in the Hall where our housemates and Slytherins were wearing their Quidditch merchandise. It's almost like everyone was very chipper about the game today. I smiled. "Wow. Hogwarts is on parade here." I said. Brianna scoffed. "See? I told you." She said. Hermione rolled her eyes as we spotted the boys including Harry smiling at me. I returned the gesture. My cheeks burned red. "Brianna, do try to be nice for this parade occasion." She said annoyedly. We sat next to each other and began making our plates. French toasts, yes! "Happy Quidditch day!" I cheered. Harry chuckled. "You too. I'm really excited and partially nervous." He said. Ron snickered. "Partially." He muttered. Dean playfully elbowed his shoulder. I chuckled. "No worries. You'll do great." I said. Hermione nodded in agreement. Brianna waved happily toward a Slytherin girl. She returned the gesture. It's still unbelievable she is friends with some of them. She smiled. "I'm excited for the game!" She beamed. Ron scoffed, raising an eyebrow. "Why? Because of Slytherins?" He asked. Brianna rolled her eyes. "Do I need to wear a Gryffindor jumper to prove I'm not cheering for Slytherin?" She asked annoyedly. I fake smiled while drinking my cup. "To be honest you're really friendly with them." I sassed. Him and Harry chuckled. She growled. "Hush Sky!" She growled. I laughed. "You hush up!" I said. Harry groaned. "You two can't help yourselves can you?" He said. Hermione sighed. "Apparently not." She mumbled.
Brianna huffed, pointing her fork at him. "If I had a dime for every time she mocks me or annoys me I'd be richer like those Slytherins!" She complained. I rolled my eyes. "Very unlikely." I quickly said. "It's true!" She growled. Ron scoffed while chewing his omelet. "Who can be richer than purebloods?" He asked. We rolled our eyes. "Anyone!" We said in unison. Harry looked down and chuckled. Hermione hummed in response. "Speaking of, we should discuss our Potions homework. Final exams are before our summer break." She added. Oh, that. Me and Hermione studied the material yesterday after I've sent letters to my parents. Potions is nothing because it is more like cooking to me. Brianna looked at Draco who looked back at her before turning to his friends. She sighed annoyedly. "Oh honestly, I need to brew a forgetfulness potion." She whispered in my ear. "Why?" I asked. She motioned me to look at Draco. He somehow smiled toward me. My cheek kinda flared up. "I see what you mean." I whispered. She nodded. Someone cleared their throat. We looked up to see Harry and Hermione looking suspicious. "Why are you lot whispering?" She asked confusedly. He raised an eyebrow weirdly. "Hard to believe you both would do that." He said. Brianna rolled her eyes. "In case you've forgotten, we're sisters Harry. Sisters talk." She said. He put his hands up in surrender and fake gasped. "My bad!" He joked. I giggled. "What time is the game?" I asked. "2:30pm." Hermione quickly said. Great! It gives me more the freedom to probably binge-watch Seven Super Girls or play Exploding Snap with the boys. I smiled, putting two thumbs up. "Support from yours truly. The best friend who loves a good pumpkin juice." I joked but in a serious tone. We laughed. Brianna was too distracted growling toward Draco. Harry grinned proudly. "Wouldn't argue with that." He agreed.
Ron pointed to my last French toast splattered with syrup. "You gonna finish that?" He asked. I nodded my head no. He cheered happily and placed it on his plate. Hermione rolled her eyes. Brianna shrugged. "At least he asked." She joked. Somehow her joke made us laugh more.Potions were slightly uncomfortable considering Harry was practically being harassed by Snape.
Annoying of course. What a stern-creepy dude.
The only thing that kept me distracted was the upcoming exam he mentioned. I breathed a breath of relief once the bell went off. We gathered our backpacks and hurried out of the room. Ron growled. "That bloke is a jerk!" He blurted. I nodded in agreement. "True. Bet he'll enjoy interrogating us with questions for the exam." I said. Hermione clutched her textbook and sighed. "Stop going mental about Snape. Harry's got the game to worry about." She added. He sighed deeply. "Thanks for reminding me." He mumbled sarcastically. I held his hand. My cheeks flared crazily. "Don't worry. It'll be alright. You've managed to catch Snitches when we were little." I told him. Ron chuckled. "Really?" He asked. I covered my mouth in a giggle. "Yup! Even though he was chewing some of them." I said. He and Hermione laughed. Harry huffed embarrassingly. "We were 3!" He complained. "Still funny." I sing-songed. Ron scoffed, chuckling. "Bloody funny!" He said. Hermione playfully rolled her eyes and chuckled. "Alright, leave him alone." She said. Harry smirked deviously. "We can always talk about the time her little brother sneeze- I cut him off by wrapping my arm around Hermione. I smiled nervously. "Why don't we hang in the library Mione? We can find more fiction books." I asked.
She smiled brightly. "Yeah! Let's go!" She beamed. "I'll see you guys later." I said while trailing behind her. He smiled innocently. I stuck my tongue out.******
It was 1:57. All houses were getting ready for the Quidditch game. I looked at myself in the mirror and decidedly took off the makeup and applied lipgloss instead. I smiled while combing my hair. "You look even more beautiful." A voice said. I turned to see Brianna surprisingly standing near the doorway. It's hardly believing that she would comment nicely on my looks. She usually sigh or shrug. "You don't mean it." I muttered sadly. She inhaled a deep breath. "Sky, you must never listen to the things I say. You're naturally beautiful and no blush or lipstick could do." She said. I looked at her in shock. Brianna smiled nicely. "Also, Harry's lucky." She told me. I nodded but whipped at her weirdly. "Wait, what do you- she cut me off by leaving. "Cmon! The game will start!" She quickly said. I put on my new Quidditch jumper and wrapped my dress robe on. I'm sure Hermione will rush me out any second. I walked out of the bathroom and slipped on school gloves. Today was sunny yet chilly.
Being on the bleachers gave me baseball or football stadium vibes. The difference is all housemates are in each groups separately, waving house flags excitingly. I was standing between Hermione and Neville. Brianna was next to Ron and Dean. Nerves were building up for me. I was hella excited though for Harry. In the other bench was full of the school staff and Professor McGonagall. Finally, the Gryffindor team flew out to the field. We cheered excitingly. I smiled once I saw Harry.
Hermione nudged my shoulder. "What?" I asked, still paying attention to Harry. She huffed and pinched my arm. I yelped in slight pain. "What is it Hermione?" I asked annoyedly. It was bloody insane how Harry kept flying around messily. He was usually a good flyer. She sighed. "It's Snape. He is hexing Harry's broom." She told me. Sudden anger boiled inside of me. I rubbed my hair and sighed. "You've got to be kidding me." I said. Ron huffed. "Unfortunately no." He mumbled. "What do we do?" Brianna asked. I almost spoke until Hermione handed me her binoculars. "Leave it to me." She quickly said. What is she gonna do? Hopefully it'll work.
He won! They won! Harry caught a real snitch! I cheered happily, pumping my fist in the air.
"Whoo go Harry! Yay Harry! Whoo!" I cheered. Every house applauded and cheered...well except Slytherin. He smiled widely while holding the Snitch in his fist. I waved. He returned the gesture. Brianna smirked but I didn't notice. "Party at the Gryffindor house!" I yelled. Our housemates cheered including Ron. Hagrid clapped proudly. "So proud of him!" He said. I smiled happily. I'm so proud of my best friend, the Seeker.
