~Chapter 11~

Stone and Robotnik awoke to the sound of pounding on their door and yelling. Stone immediately stood up and put on his pants, then standing next to Ivo in a protective manner. His fight or flight had kicked in from working for the government for so long and he tensed up.

"Who's there?!" Stone yelled, a hint of anger in his voice.

"Dad!! I finished my project! Come see!" Eggette yelled excitedly from the other side of the door.

"Ok kiddo! Let me get dressed and wake up papa ok?" Stone said as his voice calmed and he felt his muscles relax.

"Ok dad!" Eggette yelled and stone heard her run down the stairs.

"Kids.." Stone sighed.

Ivo sat up and went to the bathroom to take a shower. "So protective amour, it's ok. They aren't going to find us here. And if they do we can take care of them easily." Ivo calmly stated as he started the shower and got in. "Now come take a shower, we reek of sweat and sex."

Stone laughed and took off his pants before walking into the bathroom. "Sorry, just got scared for a minute there." Stone got in the shower and kissed Ivo's cheek, then washing himself.

"It's fine amour, I'll help you relax." Ivo patted stone on the shoulder and kissed his cheek. "No need to be sorry."

"Sorry."

"Oh my goodness, don't say sorry it's ok" Ivo chucked.

"I kind of feel like saying it" Stone smiled sweetly.

"Don't" Ivo smiled back, giving Stone a loving look.

"Sorry." Stone laughed and hugged Ivo before stepping out the shower.

"I said don't say it!" Ivo laughed and washed himself, then getting out the shower and grabbing stone.

"Sorry!" Stone continued to laugh.

"Shush!" Ivo laughed and dried himself off with a towel, then getting dressed as stone did the same.

"Ok ok, I'm done now"

"Good! Now let's go see Eggettes project, she seems really excited about it" Ivo held stones hand as they walked out of their room and down the stairs to the lab.

"Hi dad! Hi papa! Are you ready to see my greatest work?" Eggette hugged stones leg and looked up at him, happiness overtaking her.

"Of course we are!" Stone smiled and patted Eggettes head.

"Good!" Eggette ran over to what seemed to be her project, but it was covered with a blanket. "I give you, Metal sonic!!" She pulled the blanket off of the sonic replica. "He is designed to do everything sonic can! But he will be on our side forever! He is fast, intelligent, and can learn human skills that he doesn't know, like a child of sorts."

"How extraordinary" Ivo walked up to Metal and examined him for a good minute before turning to Eggette. "How did you do this?"

"I used the human body as a big reference, and also what I saw of that sonic creature." Eggette explained, her and Ivo started talking about robots and machines for a long while while Stone watched in awe. He loved them both so much. He finally had a happy family. He was so lost in his own thoughts that he almost didn't notice his name being called.

"Stone? Stone!" Ivo put his hand on stones shoulder as he spoke with concern standing out in his voice. "Are you ok? Do you need to sit down?" Ivo held stones hand with his free hand.

"Huh? Oh! Yeah I'm ok love, just lost in thought." Stone gave Ivo a sweet smile and gave his hand a small squeeze.

"Ok good. Don't want you fainting on us, we need you" Ivo smiled back at stone.

"Yeah, you guys would burn the house down trying to cook." Stone laughed and soon everyone was in a laughing fit.

"Ok ok! Now I shall turn Metal on!" Eggette exclaimed. She pressed a button which obviously sent power to metal sonic. The sonic replica shook before opening its eyes.

"YES!! IT WORKS!" Eggette put her arms right into the air before hugging stone. "Aren't you so proud dad?"

"Of course I am! This is magnificent!" Stone hugged his daughter before looking at Metal.

"I couldn't have done this without you dad. Thank you." Eggette looked up at her father and smiled with pure happiness.

Stone smiled back and teared up. "Of course kiddo, anything for you"

Metal looked around before jumping off of the ledge he was sitting on and hugging stones leg. "dad?"

Ivo looked at the scene in awe, the robot was already learning. "Wow." Was all he was able to say.

Metal turned to Ivo and held onto stones leg with one hand. "Who.. are....You?" Metal pointed to Ivo.

"That's papa, I'm dad. Ivo is papa" Stone said as he gestured to Ivo and himself.

"Papa, dad." Metal looked at Eggette. "Who?"

"I'm Eggette! I made you ya dimwit!" Eggette yelled.

"Eggette?" Metal pointed to Eggette then to himself. "Dimwit?" He looked up at stone for reassurance.

"Yes that's Eggette, you are.. Metal." Stone patted the robots head and beamed with happiness.

Ivo held stones hand and look at the robot. "Metal.. I can get used to that. What's his purpose?"

"My purpose is to defeat sonic!" Metal exclaimed.

"We don't need to defeat sonic anymore, he wins now." Ivo told the small robot.

"Well then he needs a new purpose! Metal!" Eggette put her hands on the sides of the robots head. "What do you want to do with your life?"

"I.. what do I want to do?" Metal said quietly.

"You can do whatever you want! So tell us! What do you want to do?" Eggette yelled and shook Metals head back and forth.

Stone gently put his hand on top of Eggette's, stopping her from shaking the poor, confused robot anymore. "Give him time to think kiddo. These things take time." He spoke in a gentle tone

"Ok then! Metal think!!" Eggette yelled and paced around the room.

"I.. I want to-" Metal put his hands on the sides of his head.

Stone and Ivo crouched down to metals level and stone gave him a brief hug. "Well?" Ivo said calmly as he tried his hardest to be patient.

Metal looked at stone for reassurance once more and said. "I want to stay with you, and be a.. family."
