The Irregular at Magic High School: Mayumi Route

Volume 29: Yokohama Disturbance: Part 4

Despite it being a Sunday, Tatsuya still had to come to school. The thought of 'T' lingered in his mind, but there wasn't much that he could do as 'T' was able to make a completely separate space outside of time it seemed. So all he could do now was prepare for the upcoming Thesis Competition.

There wasn't much to do since he came in early, so Tatsuya decided to simply make his way to the lab, that is until he saw someone.

Mayumi.

"Tatsuya! You're finally here!"

"But... I never told you I'd be in. So how?"

"That's for me to know and for you to dwell on, fufu."

Mayumi grabbed Tatsuya's arm. He was meant to be working on the Thesis Competition, but there was still an hour until the time they'd decided to meet.

So he gave in.

It took around 5 minutes for the two to reach the shopping centre, but once they did, Mayumi began running around like a child at a playground.

The variety of shops here was so verse that Tatsuya didn't know if he could trust Mayumi to actually go back on time.

From clothes stores to CAD accessories, this shopping centre had about everything: the only downside about this place was that if you lost track of your mind for even a second, you would be as lost as someone who was stranded in the very middle of the sea.

Tatsuya's head already felt dizzy trying to keep track of which direction they came from, but Mayumi was already coming out of the next shop, two bags in tow.

"So what are these?"

She smiled, "Matching rings!"

Before a reaction could even occur, she plunged her hand towards his, placing it on his ring finger and showing her own.

"We match now!"

Mayumi jumped up, bringing Tatsuya down to her height, and continued to drag him across the entire shopping center.

After what seemed to have been a couple of years from Tatsuya's view, almost an hour had passed. Looking at his watch, the pair began to make their way back to the school. As he walked into the school, Tatsuya waved goodbye to Mayumi, making his way towards a small building labeled 'Robotics research club'.

He entered the building to be greeted by a couple of beeps from machines and a light which caused smoke to be released. From there, an android girl came out. He was the only person in here right now whilst the other two worked on various other things, but it seemed that he wasn't the first one to come in today. The android who came out revealed 'herself' in a frilly maid dress fitted with black sleeves, white stockings, and a ribbon on the head.

A sigh came from Tatsuya's mouth.

Interesting hobby

"Welcome back, sir,"

The 'person' in the room greeted Tatsuya who replied with "Tatsuya Shiba, Class 1-E,"

It took some time for the android to process his voice, but once it did, and after facial recognition, Tatsuya was given a pass through the room's security.

"Sir, I will prepare some coffee."

The voice which came out was slightly awkward - enough for Tatsuya to realize, but not for most. The android's movements too were also slightly off, but it wasn't so much that one could tell the difference between 'her' and a normal human.
