The new year had begun and Tatsuya along with everyone else were about to start school again. Their final term was approaching quickly.

But despite that, Tatsuya was working on his own things, completely alien to anything related to school preparations.

Down in his new home's office, he had a vacuum chamber which he was firing psions and pushions through in an attempt to mimic how a parasite is shaped, though his experiments weren't particularly successful.

Beyond all of this, however, the relationships of all the major countries were souring: Japan and the Great Asian Union seemed to be as close as possible to war due to the death of Mao, while the USNA sided with Japan, and the New Soviet Union looked to be siding with the Great Asian Union.

The whole world was on the brink of another World War.

Tatsuya, despite all of his military relations, couldn't be less cared about this though, especially with the Yotsuba family slowly crumbling from the death of Maya. Miyuki had taken over her place, but that wasn't enough. She wasn't nearly qualified to be leading this family.

So that's what Tatsuya had to do.

Albeit, even he couldn't quite handle the Yotsuba family nearly as well as Maya, but with the combined forces of the siblings, somehow their family was surviving. It was something at the top of Tatsuya's priority list to sort out because if the Yotsuba family crumbled, the entire system of Japan may as well crumble with it.

Of course, they weren't the only two working to save the family, but they were at the top of the chain, commanding most of what happened.

At the current moment, though, Tatsuya was working on his promise to Tetsu: he was going to save Mao no matter how long it took him.

To do that, he had to recreate an entire parasite shell to house Mao's conscience which he had stored within his eidos. He also had to create a body to contain this new parasite he was going to make, creating an abundance of pain for him to deal with.

But after everything that Mao and Tetsu had done for him, in terms of making him realize his own self, he wanted to do this.

"Miyuki? Are you there?"

He felt a presence outside of his door.

"Yes, brother. I have a mail for you."

She handed him an envelope which he opened, revealing a long letter signed by Angie Sirius.

The person from before?

He quickly skim-read through the entire letter before placing it down on his desk, "Miyuki, I'll need to head out for a bit, take care of yourself while I'm gone."

She nodded.

Around twenty minutes on his motorcycle led him to a rather well-lit and crowded area. It didn't seem like the place he had expected, or at least before he had heard a familiar voice.

"Tatsuya."

"Angie."

They greeted each other quickly before Angie led Tatsuya to a more hidden area, "As my letter said, I'm here to help you."

"What do you mean by 'help'?"

"With a war starting, surely you understand. We're going to finish the job we started together."

"Thanks but I'm f-"

"I'm not exactly taking 'no' as an answer. It's my duty as a member of the USNA Stars to serve my country, and with the treaties in place now, it's my duty to help you. It doesn't even have to relate to the war, I'm simply here to help, so think about it and when you need something, call me."
