"Tetsu, how was it today at school?"
The small family of three lived in a rather uninteresting and run-down area. With a couple of houses scattered across their small street, it wasn't the best, but none of them cared.
Tetsu was a young ten-year-old boy. According to his parents, he was always quite an emotionless boy growing up, but that wasn't quite true.
When his first body was first born, in the dimly lit house where he currently was, Tetsu was simply a collection of small psion-like particles. Back during this time, nobody truly had an understanding of magic nor could anyone sense their presence, so the small ball of particles would simply float around.
It took a year after the original body of Tetsu was born, for the ball of particles to finally reach the boy. Once it made a connection, the original conscience of Tetsu was merged with the parasite ball. It allowed his body to be able to visualise and use psions, much like current-day magicians, though the mind of Tetsu at that time wasn't old enough to understand.
As a child, he simply saw the small star-like particles floating about and, thinking they were toys, could watch for days on end.
But the fact that he was taken over by a parasite, meant that there was much less of an emotional presence within Tetsu.
He could understand words, respond and react to commands, and could make decisions himself, but never was fully able to act on human emotion. Despite this, his family continued to shower him with love and attention.
"It was fine."
His shallow and monotone response forced his 'mother' to walk towards him, "C'mon, have a little more emotion,"
She placed her soft, warm hands on his cheeks, dragging them out to form a forced smile.
Yet that warmth from her subtle touch made him feel something different. Different from the cold emotions he had. It was so simple, yet tears began to flood out of his small eyes. And that was his first time experiencing happiness.
From that point onwards, Tetsu began to get closer and closer to his 'parents'. But only a week later, Kira appeared.

Just after the death of his parents, the lifeless Tetsu wandered around the room, trying to bring back his parents at whatever cost. His hands scurried around in the blood as if to try and fill their bodies with life again.
But it didn't work.
Continuously, for a further five minutes, he kept trying and trying.
But it didn't work.
By the end, he was left in a pile of blood and tears. It was a moment he would never be able to forget, even three hundred years later.
And it was the first time he felt negative emotions. It was the first time he felt sadness and grief.

A day later, he'd escaped onto the barren streets, lonely wandering around. The only thing he had to do was find Kira and get his revenge.
The first day wasn't quite the best. After being soaked in heavy rain, he was forced to seek shelter under a small tree. From there, nothing went in his favour.
Falling over into mud, being attacked by wild animals, and going hungry for days, he'd experienced a lot over the next month or so.
But as he was attacked by a group of birds for the tenth time, he was suddenly able to use magic. It wasn't anything advanced at all, he simply mustered up a weak shot of psions towards the attackers. Though it was weak, the attack managed to scare the birds away, giving the boy time to escape.
