Chapter 24: The Hangover

I wake up on my futon, my head was still hurting.

"Ow..." I sit up.

Someone gently grabs my shoulder and lays me back down.

"Huh?"

I look and see Dazai.

"What are you doing...."

"Go back to sleep." Dazai says.

"But..."

My headache felt worse.

He put a cold rag against my forehead.

"I'm fine...." I try to sit up.

"No. You're not." He carefully pushed me back down.

"H-hey..."

He gave me a cup of tea.

"This will help."

"Since when the hell were you a doctor?" I asked him.

"Since about...... 2 hours ago? Mostly because I just used Google."

"I've been out for 2 hours?!" I asked. "I don't even remember walking inside here!"

"Well.... That's because you were drunk...." Dazai mumbled.

"I WAS WHAT?!" I shouted.

He sighed. "Are you gonna drink the tea or not?"

I took a sip of the tea.

I shrugged my shoulders and finished drinking it.

"You're surprisingly good at making tea." I say, giving him the cup.

My phone started ringing from beside me.

"You seriously took my phone out of my pocket?!" I glared at him.

I noticed my suitcase in the corner. "Oh, who put my suitcase in here?" I asked.

"Atsushi returned it saying you left it at the agency." Dazai explained.

I grab my phone.

1 missed call: F/n

I sighed and was about to call her.

Dazai grabs my phone out of his hand.

"W-what the hell do you think you're doing?" I ask him.

"Now's not the time for calling people. Just focus on yourself."

"You're the one to talk.." I mumbled.

"What was that?" He leaned closer to my face.

"N-nothing...." I look away.

Someone knocked on the door.

Dazai set my phone down and walked to the door.

I grabbed it and looked at messages.

F/n:

RED ALERT. YOU'RE BROTHER IS ON HIS WAY TO YOUR APARTMENT.

Oh shit.

"B/n?" Dazai asked.

"Where's Y/n?" He asked in Japanese.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Me and Dazai yelled at the same time.

He slid open the door and looked at me. "Found her."

"I need to talk to you, it's urgent." He said in English.

"Dazai, could you give me and B/n a moment?"

Dazai sighed and walked out of the apartment.

"What were you two doing?" He asked.

"Nevermind that, how the hell were you communicating with him?" I asked him.

"The strangest thing just happened." He said. "I was over hearing two people having a conference in Japanese, all of a sudden, I knew what they were saying."

"That's odd..." I mumbled.

"Tell me about it." He sighed. "Y/n,"

I looked at him.

"I don't know what happened." He said concerned. "But something's not right. I never knew the language before...."

"U-um..."

"You two done talking?" Dazai asked.

"Yeah, come inside." B/n said.

"How does your brother know what I'm saying?! It's concerning me." Dazai said, looking at B/n.

"What I should be concerned about is that you and my sister are in the same apartment." B/n says with his arms crossed.

"Oh, I share this apartment with Akiko." I say, looking at B/n.

Dazai slowly stepped away from B/n.

"How does he know Japanese?" Dazai asked me.

"I know it, just not all of it." He lied.

"Why didn't you try talking to me before?" Dazai asked him.

"Doesn't matter." B/n said glaring at him. "I'm taking my leave now."

He walked out of the door.

"One more thing, Dazai." He stopped and looked at him.

Dazai looked back at him.

"Don't think about trying anything on Y/n." He looked at me and closed the door.

Dazai mumbled something under his breath.

"What did you say..."

"Oh, don't worry about it!" Dazai smiled.

I sighed and looked at my phone.

"Hey! What did I say?" Dazai asks me.

"What are you? My mom?" I glared at him.

"No, but I'm your friend, so stop being difficult."

Friend? Dang, that kind of hurt to be honest....

He grabbed my phone.

"You wouldn't dare." I glared at him. Gripping onto she sheets tighter.

"Oh I do." He said.

He placed it in his pocket.

"Dumbass...." I mumbled in English.

"I heard that." He glared back at me.

"How did you know it was an insult?" I asked him.

"I don't know... B/n called me that a lot in English.... I suspected it was an insult."

"Ha, loser!" I said in English.

"He called me that too."
