Chapter 99: Blunt

I typed on my computer and yawned.

It had been 3 days since B/n left Yokohama.

"Hey, Y/n." I heard Atsushi say.

I turned my chair around and looked at him.

"I thought about something."

"What is it?" I asked.

"If you ever used your Digital Web ability and Dark Web at the same time... Would it be purple?" He tapped his chin.

I thought for a moment. "Wait.. you do have a point.. When's lunch break?"

"In 3 minutes." Atsushi said.

"Then we'll go early. C'mon." I walked out the door.

He followed behind me into the hallway.

I opened my pocket knife and cut my arm. I made a blue and red digital shield in both hands. "Now for the moment of truth."

Atsushi looked at the two shields.

I slowly moved them towards each other. They touched each other and nothing happened. "...Are you kidding me?"

"What's wrong?"

"They just touch each other like any other object. That's disappointing." I sighed.

Everyone else walked out of the agency.

"So... Did it work?" Dazai asked.

"Nope." I sighed and made the shields disappear. "No use."

Dazai sighed, "I really thought it would work."

I chuckled and we walked to the cafe.

I sat down in the cafe beside Dazai. Kyouka and Ranpo say across us.

Ranpo looked at me, "Hey, Y/n. Could you give me a favor?"

"Oh, sure. What is it?" I asked.

"I'm out of snacks.. and I need some before lunch break ends.."

".....Ranpo. Why now?"

"Please?" He looked at me with puppy eyes, "I'll be depressed without them!"

"Fine."

"Thank you!" He smiled.

"Yup.. what snacks do you need?" I asked.

"Pocky, sushi gummies, ramune.."

"Just those 3?"

"Just make it last for today." He gave me some yen.

I stood up. "Okay, I won't be gone long." I said.

"Aw, Y/n! I wanna go with you!" Dazai said.

"Oh, sure you ca-"

"No. If Dazai goes with you, it'd take a lot longer." Ranpo said.

I sighed and walked out of the cafe.

I walked inside the convenience store and looked around. I spotted Pocky and grabbed some.

I walked out of the store with a bag in my hand.

That was a lot faster than I thought it would be..

I bumped into someone. "Oh, I am so sorry!"

It was a woman who looked around... Her 30's? She had jet black hair and was wearing a black dress with a white cardigan.

"Watch where you're going!" She yelled at me.

I noticed she had a drink in her hands. It had spilled on her cardigan.
