Almost there. Don't wait up.Followed?
Nope. Got the substance.
Anything else? Not at all. Watch your back tho.
Never know who's looking.Always.
A hand slips the phone into her back pocket of her jean shorts as her arms grasp a bag that she takes from her scooter's trunk. She quickly sets it on the ground and kicks her scooter's kickstand down, letting the vehicle lean crookedly. The arms bend down to pick the bag up again.
Her feet guide her up the steps of a wooden two story vacation house. "I'll wait for you, always." she whispers.
"Melissa? I'm back!" she hollers. "Got what you needed!"
"Sweet! Did you get the pancake mix?" she hears Melissa ask when the latter comes walking towards her.
Melissa's hands start digging around the bag, searching for the pancake mix. "I didn't. I'm sorry. There were too many people standing in the way."
The brunette blonde hums and leans back. "It's okay. I really wanted some pancakes is all. Aaron's at therapy and my parents are busy doing Irene knows what." she states. "It's getting rather boring here."
"Then let's do something." the woman smiles.
"Like what? Spy on my brother?" Melissa wiggles her eyebrows.
The woman frowns. "I thought I couldn't see him for an entire year."
"You aren't excited?" Melissa pouts. "I thought my brother's girlfriend would at least be excited to see him."
"I am excited! I just, seeing Aaron for the first time in a year sounds like it's too good to be true. I hurt him badly and during that year away, as much as I wanted to forget what happened; my brain and my heart wouldn't let me. There were times when I couldn't even sleep. The nightmares were just too real." the woman sighs after she speaks.
Her caramel colored eyes shift to the stairs leading to the second floor. A pair of arms immediately grabs her petite body and engulfs her in a warm embrace.
"Sounds like PTSD at its best. Mom and Dad would call with updates about Aaron and from what I recall, he suffered from that as well." Melissa tells her. "Sometimes, with cases like that; the best therapy is well, therapy! Or medications."
"I don't want therapy." the woman mumbles.
"Aphmau." Melissa lets go of the petite woman and instead stares.
"Melissa, I'll be better when I have Aaron back." Aphmau gives her future sister-in-law a smile. "Promise."
"Promises can be broken." Melissa mutters.
"I'm human remember!" Aphmau calls out. "Now, come on! Let's get out of this stuffy beach house and do something."
Melissa perks up and immediately fishes out her brochure of Starlight Wonderland. She undos the folds and flattens it out on the coffee table that sits in front of a couch, a loveseat, and a pair of chairs.
"So, what part of the resort would you like to go?" she asks.
