"Emerson? Who's that?" Ethan asks.

Elijah takes a deep breath. "Emerson is the leader of Daj's Rogues, the pack of rogues occupying Bloodcrest territory. I must ask though, do you have any experience with wolf fighting?"

"Wolf fighting?" Alina ponders. "That sounds dangerous."

"It's fighting in your wolf form." Elijah explains.

The Lycan male scrunches his nose as he picks up the tea cup in his dominant hand. "Not really. I didn't even know I could do it until a few months ago when I did it accidentally. Plus, Alina doesn't have one."

Elijah tilts his head towards Alina. "You don't have one?"

"No. But that's okay." Alina reassures the man. "I'll be fine."

"Okay, I can show you a few basic self-defense moves so you have a way to defend yourself against wolf forms." Elijah tells her. "As for Ethan, I'll teach him how to fight in wolf form."

"Why are you willing to teach us?" Alina asks as Ethan eyes the man.

"Because young werewolves like yourself should have knowledge of self defense. And, you'll need it if you wish to take down rogues."

FIVE HOURS LATER = WESTERN SHORE OF DAWNSTRIKE, ZUVIA.

"Yes, I'd like to secure safe passage to Crimsonbane." Elijah states, eyeing the man in front of him.

Ethan and Alina stand behind him, a bag resting on Ethan's shoulder and a smaller one in Alina's arms. They watch the man at the counter reach over the countertop, grabbing ahold of Elijah's covered neck. The later gasps as he's suddenly being chocked.

Ethan merely sighs and adjusts his bag before walking over to the two. He slams his left hand down on the countertop, directly staring at the man choking Elijah.

"Let him go." he says. "He's just requesting passage."

The man subconsciously lets go of Elijah's neck and reaches under the countertop, sliding a passage card over to Elijah.

"Two more." Ethan adds.

The man slides over two more as the teenage Lycan snatches the passage cards, walking back over to his sister and hands her one.

Elijah purses his lips and hums. "Compulsion? That's a new one with werewolves."

"Is that what I was doing? I was just getting him to let go and give us the passage cards." Ethan frowns, fixing his gaze over to Elijah's walking statue.

"Lycans are the only werewolves that can do that. You look him in the eye and say what you want him to do. I haven't quite seen that since David."

"Someone talking about me?" David's floating body hovers over Alina's shoulder.

Ethan sighs. "Speak of the devil."

"What on earth are you doing with Elijah Kana? He's nothing but bad news." David retorts.

"Oh like you're any better." Ethan mutters. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be ghosting other people?"

David moves to ruffle Ethan's onyx locks. "I thought I'd come by and check on my son. Can't a father do that at least?"

"GO AWAY!" Ethan bellows suddenly, causing both Elijah and Alina to halt their tracks at look at him with worried expressions. "Just go away."
