09 - Ethan Lycan [Part Two]

"They wanted to meet Ethan before they decide if they want to adopt him." Astoria states. "Izzy and David left quite a few requirements for his adopted parents if he should ever get adopted."

"What are your names?" Nicole asks.

"Oh! I'm Aphmau, and this is my boyfriend, Aaron." Aph says.

The woman and Nicole both smile and step away from the crib. The petite woman can now get a good look at the newborn baby boy sleeping with wires and tubes surrounding his small frame.

"I'd like you two, to meet Ethan. He was born with heart failure but don't fret, it's being managed with medication." Astoria tells the couple.

Ethan's eyes slowly open and he gurgles right away. "Taylor?" Nicole eyes the other woman.

"Right." Taylor strolls over to Ethan and unhooks a few tubes from his body. "There you go, little one. Your body's responding well to the medication."

"He's so precious." Aphmau whispers. "I just want to hold him."

"You can hold him if you'd like." Nicole tells her. "You can sit over here."

Aphmau moves to sit in the chair beside the crib and awaits her arms. Taylor lifts the newborn up and places him gently in the petite woman's awaiting arms, making sure she supports his head and is cautious of his wires.

"Hi, Ethan. I'm Aphmau." she murmurs.

Ethan lifts a small hand up to grasp her finger and Aph smiles. Aaron watches her and notices the smile of happiness she bares.

"Ethan is so precious! I want to cuddle him forever!" Aph shouts then sighs. "But, we aren't ready to be parents."

"Aph, you had happiness on your face when you held him. If adopting him as our son, would allow you to be that happy, then let's do it." Aaron tells her.

"We aren't even engaged, Aaron."

"So? That's never stopped us. Aph, we've been through hell and back and we still are a team."

Aph gives Aaron a small smile. "Yeah, you're right."

"So...how was it meeting the baby?" Melissa comments from the doorframe. "I bet the baby was adorable."

"He is! He held my finger and all I felt was happiness in that sole moment." Aph whispers.

"Are you two going to adopt him, then?" Melissa asks.

"We don't know. Sure, he's adorably precious but he has a heart problem." Aaron tells her.

"And? That just means he'll need more love and support."

"Aph?! You back yet?! I need some help choosing an outfit!" a voice shrieks from her room.

"Coming Lucinda!" Aph shouts back. She places a hand on Aaron's shoulder and smiles before she leans up on her tippy toes and presses a kiss to his cheek.

She dashes up the stairs quickly, leaving the Lycan siblings alone.

"You should have seen the happy look she had." Aaron mutters. "I haven't seen her that happy since we started dating officially."

"Then maybe you should go for it." Melissa suggests. "But maybe you should also do you-know-what beforehand."

"Why did I tell you my plan?" Aaron groans. "You're as bad as Lucinda."

"What can I say, she got influenced by the best!" the brunette-blonde shouts.
