Khaled was still here, drinking his coffee and still worried about going back home to his parents. I could not blame him as he had gotten caught in a really bad position. I liked him and his family, as they were very good with Dawoud when he left Smallville, and let him live with them in Lebanon.
I appreciated that gesture on their part as he was hurting a lot from all the changes that were forced upon him.
But now, I was worried about him and the road he chose to follow. Only, it made no sense to me because he was someone with high morals. So how did someone with such morals go down this dark path?
I tried not to think too much as I had no idea where he was at and now I was considering giving Khaled a healing elixir I had concocted but had no idea if it would heal his wound completely, or at least partially.
"Khaled, I might have a solution to your issue with your wound."
"What do you mean?" he asked, curiously and took another long sip of his coffee.
"I developed an elixir that can potentially heal your wound, or partially if anything since the elixir has not been tested."
"Is it safe?"
"Yes, it won't harm you but there's the chance it might not do what it should."
"I trust you. Plus, Dawoud explained the art of elixir making to me and my family."
"He's smart and this type of art is from Krypton."
"His brother taught him."
"Yes" I sighed. "What happened when he was with you guys?"
"What are we talking about here?" asked Louai.
"Dawoud" I said.
"He seemed fine when he was living with us and we all got along and my parents and even Louai, we all loved him. But he was still really wounded by the fact that he was not allowed to return to Earth-2. Then one morning he left a note in his room and said he needed to find himself and thanked us for having given him a home when he needed one the most. And that was the last time we heard from him."
"Well, you know the chaos above in the restaurant and all around this area?"
"Yeah" they both said in unison.
"He caused it."
"What, how? Why would he do that?" Khaled jumped up, unable to believe he did this. "He's my friend and how did he get mixed up in this?"
"I don't know" I sighed in frustration. "But something tells him that his actions are not quite his own doing."
"You think someone could be controlling him?" asked Louai, whose concern was evident.
"I don't know. I'm trying to find out and understand but I don't know. He came and attacked Rashid and me and blasted us with his cry, which has gotten considerably more powerful and the damage he caused not just to the restaurant but also to the other nearby businesses, only proves how much more powerful he's become as a Meta-Human."
"But how can one person alone be capable of doing such damage?" asked Louai.
"Meta-human powers tend to grow more powerful with time but at times there's an emotional connection between a person's powers."
"Are you saying that such powers are tied to one's emotions?" asked Khaled.
"Yes. Sometimes when a person is experiencing heightened emotions, their powers are often kicked up a notch."
