Chapter 20: Rogue

Waking up, I was sore but not enough to stay down. I noticed Caitlyn looking over some x-rays and the moment she saw I was awake, she walked over.

"How are you feeling?"

"Like I got the crap beaten out of me" I sighed. "That's how" I then noticed my wrist was bandaged.

"Your wrist is fine. It was just a bit sprained but it should heal just fine."

"Where's Dinah and Laurel?"

"They're in the bunker, trying to figure out what happened with your brother that he roughed you up!"

"It's not him."

"What do you mean?" she was confused.

"It's Hamdan-X!"

"Oh my god!" she said and I got up.

"Wait, you're still in recovery!"

"No, I'm fine. I can't sit here and watch while he sets out to do whatever it is he wants to do."

"Wait, so it's your brother's doppelganger who's taken his place?"

"Yes and if my brother's been replaced, this must mean the Iraqi president might have also been changed with his sudden desire to invade Kuwait."

We both walked over to the bunker where Dinah and Laurel were talking to Rashid. The moment I walked in, all eyes were on me.

"Hamdan's been replaced by his Earth-X doppelganger and I think the same might have happened to the Iraqi president."

"We know" said Dinah.

"Kara and Clark just recovered the body of the real president" said Laurel.

"So does this mean they've gained complete and total access to our universe?" I just had to ask.

"Not as far as we've been able to see" said Rashid. "They're sending in some of their best soldiers but it appears a little at a time as the breaches don't stay opened for long. But according to some of the readings, the most recent breaches have lasted a lot longer..."

"Which means they are one step closer to opening these breaches permanently and send their entire army here" I said, realizing how this situation was getting worse every day that passed.

"Yeah, unfortunately. But we have a piece of ammo that we can use" said Rashid.

"And what is that?" asked Dinah.

He took his shirt off and I had a feeling Dinah and Laurel were having themselves a little eye candy show.

Based on how glued their eyes were on him and even I had to admit he had a rather fit body with a six pack. But he was a solider and a freedom fighter, and such men and women needed to stay in tip-top shape.

"Wait" I snapped, fearing that the unthinkable may have happened to Fazza. "If my brother has been replaced, does this mean what I think it means?"

"We don't know" said Rashid. "But I have a feeling he's being kept alive somewhere."

"How do you know?" asked Laurel, noticing she was a little too worried.

Then again, she did go out with him and said she likely would go out with him again if he asked her out, again.

My brother had a certain charm and one that no girl could ever resist.
