Chapter 28: A Legion in Time

"Mia, what's going on?" I walked up to her.

"The future has changed. In my time, I had just gotten back after helping Team Flash in stopping Despero and preventing the Armageddon event in the year 2031! But when I returned, after running into Damien Darhk and later his daughter Nora, I returned to the year 2042, and everything changed."

"How so?" asked Laurel, looking at Hamdan but unsure what to say to him now that it was obvious he knew about hers and The Canaries' secret.

"The Nazis from Earth-X conquered our earth!" Mia said, her eyes teary.

"Wait, are you saying they succeed?" I asked, now scared that the future was heading in the wrong direction, a direction I hoped we would avert.

But it was obvious we were going to lose, and I had to figure out how to stop it from happening.

"What happened over there?" asked Cecile, while Hamdan and my mom watched from the sidelines.

"Everyone I ever loved and cared about, they were all slaughtered and I had to travel back in time to fix it. To prevent these Nazi bastards from ever getting a hold of our earth" Mia said through tear-filled eyes.

"We're going to change that!" Cecile assured her, hugging her.

Cecile walked Mia to the back room to talk while I headed to the kitchen to get something to drink as my thirst was spiking up.

Hamdan's scent alerted me he was here, as his cologne was quite obvious. "If you're going to say something, just say it, and don't stare at me from behind."

"I have one question and one question only!"

I turned around and sure enough, I could see the darkness in his eyes that alerted me that he was still angry at me.

"Then ask!"

"Why did you lie to me? Why did you deceive me?"

"I did not do either of those two!" I was now angry. "You really need to let go of your pride and that self-righteousness of yours!"

"Self-Righteousness?" he stifled a laugh. "I'm not the one who lied, you did. I asked you for months, begged you to tell me the truth and you neglected to tell me. To me, it's all lies and I can't see past it!"

"If that's what you think then relax because right now I'm going over to the palace to pack whatever junk I have left and I'm leaving, as you asked me to!"

"Good, go get your junk and leave my palace at once!" he said in a cold and calculating tone.

His words were so cold and harsh, that I almost wanted to cry. But I swallowed my tears until I was alone, with no one to watch me.

After packing up my junk, and making sure I had locked the door to the room I once occupied at Nad Al Sheba Palace, I opened the breach and headed back to our headquarters. Clark was also okay and went back to Earth-2, which I was relieved because the last thing I wanted was for him to run into my little brother and him losing his marbles any more than he had already lost them.

I saw Hamdan walking with Laurel to the kitchen area. Since his doppelganger was there, occupying the palace, he had to stay here until we kicked him out, permanently and sent him back to his earth, and the Emirate he permitted to be conquered.

He looked like he did not have a problem with her, which angered me to bits because she, herself, had kept her secret from him. But why was he unable to forgive me? I was his brother and even before I ever learned we were brothers, he and I were close.
