Harry was holding onto my hand as we drove, the two of us quiet as music played throughout the vehicle. I thought about the man the other night that had spoken to me, but didn't really want to get into a conversation about it when I was sure it was probably nothing. On the other hand, I wanted to know so badly where we were going, but the current interstate ride was fine. He had warned me that we were going to Los Angeles, but I assured him that it wasn't an issue. Or, that my parents didn't mind me staying with Ella for the night anyway.
"So, are are we going ice skating?"
"No."
"The beach?"
"No."
"How about bumper cars?"
"Still no."
He looked amused, and I knew he must have felt good about wherever we were going if I hadn't guessed it. Or, I had and he was simply keeping his poker face on. Sighing, I played with his fingers, Harry switching lanes to get closer to the exit side. About five minutes passed before he was getting off the interstate, Harry pulling my hand to his lips.
"I hope you don't think our date is lame."
"I think it's kind of doubtful that I'll find it lame."
He shrugged, appearing to know exactly where he was going. It wasn't much later until he was paying for parking in a garage, the two of us getting out of the car once he was parked. He waited for me by the rear of the car, holding his hand out to me. I smiled, taking his fingers in mine easily.
"It's a couple blocks from here," he said. "I'll carry you if you don't want to walk."
"I'll keep that in mind on the way back."
He chuckled, the two of us walking for about three blocks before we turned into a building. I still had absolutely no idea what we were doing, but I definitely thought Harry was being the cutest human ever. Just as I was about to ask if we were almost at the place, he turned swiftly, grabbing the door handle of the very last place I would have thought.
"You brought me to a Dave & Buster's?" I asked excitedly. "I haven't been to one of these in so long!"
"I'm glad you're so excited," he chuckled, kissing my cheek.
We were holding hands as we entered, Harry saying that I had to pick out whether I wanted a blue or pink wristband. Choosing the pink, he got a blue one, the two of us sitting down at a table. It wasn't long before we got drinks, Harry playing with my foot under the table. I thought it was cute that he always played footsies with me when we were out, Harry grinning at me.
"I want to play ski ball."
"We can play whatever you want," he promised, reaching for my hand. "I want to play connect four."
It wasn't until after we had eaten some that Harry and I started to play games. I found myself trying to mess him up when we were versing in the connect four game he wanted to play, however, it would backfire because he would simply mess me up also. The same went for ski ball, Harry managing more points than me at the game even though I had ruined his throw almost every time.
"You're so obnoxious," he teased, cupping my face in his hands easily. "I hate you so much."
I blushed. "I hate you way more."
"You're funny."
"No, you said I was obnoxious."
He rolled his eyes, Harry picking me up rather suddenly. He carried me to another game where we just had to press a button and basically hope for the best. Somehow, Harry and I managed to do rather well on that one, earning nearly five hundred tickets. We continued throughout the arcade, Harry kissing me randomly, or then getting overly excited at some points because he had gotten more tickets than we were both anticipating. Around nine he wanted to get going, claiming that there was one other place he wanted to stop by. However, we decided to give our tickets to a group of kids, Harry and I not overly interested in anything that was at the prize center. He carried me to the car on his back, holding onto my legs easily as he walked.
