Within the next week, Harry had finals. He got out of school earlier than me because he was a senior, my boyfriend and I sitting at the coffee shop I liked a lot and studying. I was asking him questions for his biology class, Harry grumbling softly under his breath when he seemed to not know ones we had already gone over.
"Okay. Major evolutionary change, applies to the whole taxonomic groups over long periods."
"Fuck, I know this," he muttered, putting his face in his hands for a minute. "Is it macroevolution?"
"Yeah! Woo! You got another one."
He chuckled, taking a sip of his coffee briefly before I asked another question. "Who said that animals can pass traits off to their offspring?"
"Hold on. Linnaeus is taxonomy. Darwin is natural selection. Malthus is principle population. Wallace is like Darwin. Fuck, what's his name? Lamar?"
"That's close enough. It's Lamarck."
"Thank God."
I continued quizzing him, making a pile of the cards he got and the ones he did not. We tested over the ones he knew again, making sure he did in fact know all of them before moving on to the next set that he did not know. It took maybe close to forty-five minutes before he knew all of them without a question, Harry seeming thankful once that was finished.
"I have math tomorrow also, but that shouldn't be an issue."
I nodded, moving to sit next to him instead of across from him. Harry chuckled, my body leaning against his easily. It was clear that he thought I was funny, my boyfriend chuckling as I continued leaning against him.
"I want a cake pop."
"What my Queen wants, she shall receive."
After I sat up, Harry walked over to the counter. I opened his laptop, signing into his account easily. He had all of his school work up, but I found myself simply lowering the windows, opening a new window on google. His MacBook was similar to mine, but it was one of the more expensive ones, Harry sitting down next to me as I looked at my grades.
"Your math grade is looking a little rough, baby," he told me. "Daddy Coleman wouldn't be happy to see a D."
"Yeah? Well I fucking suck at math."
He shook his head. "I'm sure it's just you not remembering your negatives or your positives."
Nodding, all of my other grades were As, so the current situation of such a poor letter grade in math was kind of disappointing. Thanking Harry quietly for my cake pop, I ate it, my boyfriend beginning to pack up. Honestly, it was crazy to believe that after this week, Harry would be graduating, but I didn't want to focus too much on it. After all, it was already scary to think about him going to college.

The following Thursday, I was very torn. The thought of needing to stay with Ethan, but also wishing to be with Harry, was very difficult for me. However, I knew my parents would rather me stay with them, so I just texted Harry that I would see him after. He seemed fine with it, simply asking me to look super cute. Rolling my eyes at the messages, I got into the car with my family, Ethan sitting with his gown on, while keeping his cap in his hands.
"You're graduating!" I grinned.
"Fuck, I know. It's kind of crazy. "Ethan! None of that language," my mother scolded."
"Sorry, sorry. It's just kind of surreal."
She nodded, appearing to understand. I listened to my father tell a story about Ethan, and how he was happy that the boy had actually made it to graduating considering there was a point in time where my father thought he was going to actually drop out.
