The next day, I found myself bombarded by gifts in my bed. For some reason, my family wanted to bring them to me, and I wondered if it was because I had been the last one to wake up. Ethan got me a gift card to the coffee place that I liked, while my parents and Ethan seemed excited about the next gift. I took the rather large box, opening it. To my surprise, it was a MacBook Air, my dad smiling.
"I know you said that other one wasn't doing so well," he told me. "So, your mother and I decided that this should last you through college."
"Thank you!" I cheered, hugging my mother and father.
"And thank you, Ethan!""
He nodded, explaining that he also got one. I was thankful, absolutely stunned that my parents had gotten me the gift I wanted the most. It wasn't very long before I was heading to get a shower, the rest of my family at least showered. I decided to wear a dress, picking out a lighter pink one that was off the shoulder. My family was downstairs by the time I had finished getting ready, my father looking like he wanted to say something, but keeping his mouth shut. Which, I knew he probably wanted to say something simply because of me dating Harry.
"I just need to get the pie, and potatoes I made!" my mother grinned.
I helped her, grabbing the pie as we went to the car. Today we drove together, my father driving over to Harry's house. It wasn't very long before we were getting out, his sister's family already there. When my father knocked, Harry answered the door with Gracie in his arms, and I found myself feeling an overwhelming sense of baby fever, even though I knew that was a definite no-no. He smiled at me, my family walking in further while I stood near the door. It was once they had gotten to the kitchen that Harry snuck a kiss to the top of my head, leaving me to hurry to the kitchen with the pie.
"Oh, there you are!" my mother sighed. "I thought you were right behind us."
"I was, but Gracie is so cute."
Kelly thanked me, a smile on her face as I had spoken about her daughter. Meanwhile, Anne was putting stuff in the oven, my mother asking if she could help with anything. Ethan had gone back into the living room, which I excused myself to, Harry sitting on the sofa with Gracie. My brother was playing a video game with Noah, while Emily played a game on one of her parents' phone. I sat beside Harry, my hand resting on his thigh for leverage as I looked at Gracie.
"She's even cuter today. Oh my goodness, I love her so much. Ethan, look at how cute this baby is!"
"I only like Noah and Emily. They're not babies, they can feed themselves, and they don't shit themselves."
Harry looked annoyed by his friend, but I could tell he was too focused on me liking his cousin, or niece, or whatever she was to him. I smiled when she held my finger, Gracie playing with it happily. Harry chuckled at my reaction, and while I had been around children that were this young before, I was pretty sure it hadn't been since Noah was a baby, and back then I didn't care as much.
"I want one," I said quietly.
"You're sixteen," Harry murmured.
"I know, I know. I wouldn't really want a kid until I was finished with college. I just like the thought of having one."
Harry smiled at me, though my hand slipped a little bit further up his thigh when I tried to shift slightly closer, green eyes hesitant. I could tell he didn't know what to do, but I felt really bad because I was sure he was probably hard now.
"Here," Harry stated, handing Gracie to me. "I need to use the bathroom."
He went upstairs, Ethan whining when Noah beat him at the game they were playing. I paid attention to that for a little while, though was confused when my phone went off in my bag. Turning it on silent, I pulled the device out, seeing that Harry had texted me.
