Harry's POV
School had been a drag for me, and I was looking forward to it ending. Everything would be so much better after high school, and I could not wait to go to UCLA. However, I really hoped that my arm would hurry the fuck up and heal. It didn't hurt as bad, but when I tried to throw a baseball, it hurt like a bitch for some reason. As I switched classes, I glanced down at my phone, seeing a message from Nicole.
Nicole: you look upset. Don't be. I get to come over and hang out with you after school
She followed it with a bunch of hearts, and kissing faces. Smiling, I couldn't believe that she was the one that made me so happy. I had seen her as just some girl that was my best friend's sister before, but now she was the only person that could get me to not hate myself.
I need a hug
Nicole: I'll get out of class if you do (:
fuck, please.
Nicole: I'll meet you by B-building stairs
okay love x
After a few more minutes in class, I asked to use the bathroom. The teacher dismissed me, leaving me to head toward the stairs. We were hidden from most of the rushed areas, my arms immediately wrapping around the small girl. She held onto me tightly, not letting go until I pulled away.
"You look extra upset today."
"I just want my arm to get better, that's all. "Maybe I shouldn't come over tonight. We both know you get a little rough with me."
I shook my head. "When I say that I want you to come over, it's because I need you to be there with me. I swear, my arm feels better, pitching just sucks."
She seemed to understand, pressing her lips to my shoulder. I smiled when she hugged me to her, my arms encasing her. Nicole was the most amazing girl I had ever met, and I couldn't understand how I had overlooked her for so long. Sure, I would see her and think she was hot, but back then my actual hatred for her had turned me off.
"I need to get back. I'll see you later tonight."
"Wait," I sighed, pressing a kiss to her lips briefly. "Fuck, I might go home early."
"Why?" she asked softly. "What's wrong?"
"I think I just need to sleep. I'll see you later, yeah?"
"Sure. I hate you."
"I hate you, too, baby."
She grinned, waving before heading to her class. I couldn't help but wish that I was able to just hug her for the rest of my life. After all, Nicole was the only person that I truly trusted, and appreciated. Brushing off the thought, I texted my mum to call me out as I headed back to class, hoping she would agree.

Around an hour later I texted Robin to call me out, my mother having not answered. He said he would be happy to, and didn't ask any questions about why I wanted to leave. After I had thanked him, and gotten my pass several minutes later, I got up to leave. There was only one more class left in the day, but another forty-five minutes sounded dreadful.
It wasn't until I got home that I noticed another car in the driveway. It wasn't familiar, so I immediately wondered what could be happening inside. Heading up to the door, I unlocked it, pushing it in quietly. There were voices coming from the kitchen, so I shut the door softly, locking it behind me again.
