Ella had been going to the gym, so when I asked her to run with me after school she said she would be more than happy to join me. Not that I didn't trust Lex and Blair, but she was the friend who I felt wouldn't blabber about me spending time with Harry if I finally spoke about it to someone. Of course, she would probably make it an ordeal, but it would more than likely only be for a couple of seconds. Changing into my running clothes, I stepped out of the bathroom stall, Ella doing the same.

"Did you get invited to that party next weekend, Nikki?" Ella asked as she pulled her hair up. "I know that Blair and Lex want to go, but do you?"

"I don't know what party you're talking about, actually."

"I don't know, Reggie is throwing some big party because his parents aren't in town. You know Reggie, don't you?"

"He's been to my house before."

Ella nodded, looking at herself in the bathroom mirror. The two of us hurried to get out of the restrooms, setting our stuff in the car before heading to the track. Considering we were going to do a lap, and then the bleachers, it was going to be a decent time. At least, I hoped it would anyway.

"So, anything new lately? You know, besides the fact that your parents were fucking last night."

"Don't remind me," I muttered, shuddering slightly. "I stayed over Harry's because of it."

"You did what?" she asked, stopping completely. "He let you stay at his house? He was being an absolute dick to you at lunch."

I wasn't about to tell her why he was being an asshole to everyone and not just me today. It was too personal, and I probably wasn't even supposed to know. Sighing, I glanced at Ella, nodding my head. She seemed entirely shocked still, practically sputtering.

"How did—what did—are you two—what?"

"It's nothing. Ethan wasn't home, and I kind of thought he would be at Harry's. I don't know, it's fine. Nothing happened, we just slept in the same bed."

"You two are definitely going to fuck."

"Shut up, no we are not."

She laughed, telling me I was totally wrong, and that she knew it all. Rolling my eyes, I started jogging, Ella keeping my pace for the most part. We did a full lap on the track before doing the bleachers. After another lap, we did the bleachers again, and by then I was pretty beat. Though we agreed to do another set when I heard shouting from the baseball fields.

"You need to get back here! We have an important game next week!"

"Fuck the game, Coach!" Harry shouted. "I really don't give a shit about the fucking game!"

"Harry, you won't play."

"Good. Take the team down. We all know I'm the best player. I wouldn't be captain otherwise!"

Ella raised her eyebrows, appearing worried entirely. We both jogged toward the baseball fields, Harry throwing his hat and glove off. Ethan looked like he was trying to talk to Harry, but the curly-haired boy shoved my brother away. After that, Ethan didn't try anymore, the coach saying to get back to practice. He didn't go after Harry the way I assumed he would, but I found myself jogging after the boy, Ella staying in place by the field.

"Harry?"

"If you don't fuck off, so help me I'll—"

"Talk to me."

He glanced at me, his eyes red, and it was clear he was trying his hardest not to start crying. I found myself following him out to his car, the boy climbing in the back. Trailing behind him, I shut the door, Harry shaking his head. He was tugging at his hair slightly, and I swore it looked like he had to be going absolutely insane. Though, the movements all stopped, his body stilling.
