He stared, eyes wide as he looked at the place where his son had just been, gazing searching the terrain for any sign of where Plant had gone. It was just like he had disappeared, like he had vanished from existence. It didn't make any sense. Where was Plant? The log was gone too. Lucas took that into account, his brain fogged as he tried to think of what happened.

In that moment, a daunting realization came over his mind. It him like a tidal wave, washing away any trace of, well, anything from his head, leaving his mind littered with an onslaught of panic. In an instant, Lucas snapped his head towards the ocean, just in time to see a small green figure being swept into the crashing waves by an the unforgiving tides. For a second, he was frozen, until another crashing wave sent his mind into a spiral of panic.

This is not happening. There is absolutely NO way that this is fucking happening! And yet, the fact that he saw his sons green body moving around in the water, and even break the surface a few times, told the God Slayer other wise.

Lucas screamed, frantically pushing forward, continuing to try and spot Plant underneath the churning waves. After a few seconds, he watched his hat pop up from under the waves. Holy shit. Plant was already at least swept out to the halfway point of the dock!

He attempted to use his magic to reel Plant back towards him, but his energy was almost already completely drained. Lucas stumbled blindly onto the dock, gripping the side of the pier as he used it to help himself wobble forward at a faster pace. Either way, he didn't think there was much use in it. He wasn't going to make it in time.

Suddenly, he saw something flash in the corner of his vision. He turned, spying a certain guild leader crash down onto the wooden pier, white and purple cape rolling with him as he stumbled towards the water. "Brandon!" Lucas yelled, catching the leaders assumed attention. The devil slayer looked up at him, eyes frantic even though he was trying to keep up his calm composure.

Even in the undoubtably terribly situation, he couldn't help but think that Brandon looked undeniably hot. Water rolled down his body, all of his clothes soaked and his pretty white hair tussled from the wind and rain. His cape clung to his body, outlining the muscles on his arms and back. His breath was heavy from panting as he sprung up from the ground. Lucas internally smacked himself in the face. They didn't have time for this.

"Brandon!" Lucas yelled, trying to hobble over to him but ultimately failing. "Plant fell in the water!"

"I know,"

The guild leader gave him a wry smile, before looking towards the water. Lucas's eyes widened, his face going pale as he turned towards his crush.

"Brandon, I swear to god-" He started, but the guild leader seemed to ignore what he said, instead giving the God Slayer a soft smile before he dived right into the water after Plant.

Lucas froze, his mouth hanging open as he tried to comprehend what was going on. Now, not only was Plant in the ocean, but so was Brandon. He knew for a fact that Plant couldn't swim, and he wasn't sure if Brandon could, but either way it would be far to difficult for almost anybody to swim and not drown right now. Lucas gasped, scrambling to the edge as he searched for his two guild mates in the water. He was almost certain that he saw a flash of white in the water just as he decided.

Lucas gripped the edge of the dock, eyes lighting up in determination. And with that, the God Slayer took a deep breath, and plunged right in after them.
