"What do you mean you think I have a crush! On him of all people!"

David sat in his house, his face filled with a large blush as he stared at his two companions. One was his old roommate, more like his brother now, Lucas, the water god slayer. The other was a blonde girl that had joined the guild right before Lucas had, who, despite being older than most of the mages that were the guild leaders, was still somebody that everybody considered as a little sister, including the Ice Devil Slayer himself.
And, well, to put it simply, Kit and Lucas, his two basically siblings, were bullying him.

"I mean, it sounds a lot like a crush to me, dude." Lucas answered, and David shook his head from side to side madly.

"No no no, that's impossible! I do not have a crush on Rocks for Brains" David repeated, his face heated in a blush as he stared with embarrassment at his two friends. "Why would you even think that?!!!"

When Lucas and Kit had come to his house to catch up, he thought it would be their normal weekly conversation. Just... without Mario. Which David for some reason was oddly sad about. So, about halfway through their chat, David had voiced his strange discomfort about the Cavern Dragon Slayer not being here, and the two had exchanged a strange look, asking him a bunch of strange follow-up questions, which David found kind of suspicious, but he went along with in. When all of a sudden, Kit started squealing loudly, and when David had asked what happened, both of his friends had replied with there theory. That he had a crush. On Mario.

Kit and Lucas both scoffed and rolled their eyes, giving David a small glare as they heard his last comment. In unison, which David thought was slightly terrifying, but whatever.
"Puh-lease!" Kit responded, putting her hands on her hips as she walked over to smack David on the forehead.

"Ow!" He yelped. "What was that for?!"
"For being dumb."

Okay, that's sort of fair, David thought bitterly. But not the point. "I'm telling you, I do not like Mario!" He repeated immediately, blush still bright on his face as he waved around frantically.

"Oh really?" Lucas asked him disbelievingly, raising an eyebrow in question. "Are you sure about that?"

"Yes!!!" David practically screamed. "Why would you even say that!"

Lucas tisked. "Hunny, let us spell it out for you," Lucas answered sassily, causing Kit to giggle and David to roll his eyes.

"You can't stop thinking about him," Lucas said, a smirk starting to form on his lips.

I nodded. "Well yeah, he's one of my friends."
"Uh-huh," Lucas continued. "And the thought of something bad happening to him while he's away makes you angry."

I shrugged. "As I said, friend. Best friend, actually." Lucas shook his head, whispering something along the lines of, 'and they used to be at each others throats.' Which was true, but they had become good friends since then, the two realizing that when they put there differences aside, they actually got along quite nicely.

"You always feel happy when he's nearby!" Kit offered, a smirk starting to form on her face as well.

I groaned. "Again, he's my-"

"You were angry that time that some random girl at the bar tried to flirt with him."

"Okay, yeah, but-"
