Pumpkin Carving, Except they basically Make Out kind of--

(NOT Related To The Halloween Arc only because in the Arc Mario has a undeniable obsession with Halloween, and probably would have carved a pumpkin before)

Mario held a knife in his hand as he stared down at the large pumpkin that sat in front of him. He narrowed his eyes as the pumpkin, slowly prodding the orange symbol of Halloween with the flat end of his blade. Mario looked over the pumpkin up at David, who had already efficiently stabbed his knife into the top of the pumpkin and was working on sawing, making a lid.

"So, do you just, like, stab the knife into it, or what?" Mario asked quizzically. David looked over at him with one eyebrow raised.

"Have you never carved a pumpkin before?" David asked. Mario felt his cheeks heat up slightly. With everything that had happened in his childhood, him being raised by a dragon, who didn't even know what Halloween was, then living on the streets for 4 years until he got adopted by an evil dark guild that regularly abused its members, he had missed out on most normal childhood experiences. Such as pumpkin carving.

"Well... no." Mario muttered. The subject was a little touchy for him, considering he didn't like to talk about his past. David got up from his seat, leaving his knife resting on the floor, and walked over towards where Mario was sitting on the small table positioned outside the guild hall. He pulled up one of the fold up chairs lying around and sat next to me.

"Hey, don't worry Pebbles. I'll help." David said with a toothy grin. He wrapped his arms around Mario's shoulders, taking Mario's tan hand in his paler one. As David taught him how to efficiently cut the lid off of the pumpkin, Mario could feel his cheeks starting to heat up.

Once they had finished cutting off the lid, Mario grabbed it by its green gnarled stem, lifting it up and peering inside the pumpkin. Inside was a mess of orange pumpkin guts and pumpkin seeds, which were buried deep in a stringy, slimy orange substance that criss crossed the inside of the orange fruit-gourd thing.

"What do I do now?" Mario asked, slightly grimacing at the sight of the pumpkins innards. The smell that came from the inside of the giant gourd was new and foreign to Mario. He decided he didn't like it. The inside was wet and sticky, as he could see from the slime glistening in the afternoon sun. Mario honestly thought that the whole thing looked disgusting.
David grabbed his pumpkin from the floor and moved it back to Mario's side of the table.

"This." He said simply. In a flash, David plunged his hand into the pumpkin, wrestling with the tough strings of the pumpkin guts until he decidedly found a good enough handful to bring up. The pile of the pumpkin's innards was clasped tightly in his hand. Mario had to physically stop himself from recoiling at the sight. He plopped the handful down onto the large blue tarp that covered their small table. It sat in a shapeless heap, looking deflated.

"Your turn, Rocks for brains," David said with a large grin. Mario stared at him.

"That looks disgusting." The dragon slayer deadpanned. David balked.

"How dare you, pebbles! Look, your hurting it's feelings."

"It's a pumpkin, David. It doesn't have feelings."

"Just gut your damn pumpkin already, Mr. Pebble boy."

Mario sighed, shaking his head at his crushes antics. Cautiously, Mario slowly reached his hand inside the pumpkin. The feeling was slimy, akin to that of what an eel felt like, but Mario found the feeling oddly nice. Mario grappled with the stringy pumpkin, trying to get a good enough grip of the innards to pull them up. Finally, with a ripping sound, Mario tore up a small pile of pumpkin guts in his hand, grimacing at the smell that he knew probably didn't smell that bad to anybody that wasn't a dragon slayer.
