Chapter 4: Transfurred

[2 years later, approximately 1 year after wolf Colin and Puro escaped the tower]

[K's Pov]

I entered my safe room with a box filled with documents being carried on both of my paws. Reaching my desk, I stepped on a latex puddle and slipped. I dropped the box of documents, scattering the files all over the floor. I landed on my back and sat up right. Ouch. Gathering the scattered documents on the floor, I noticed one particular file that stood out from the rest. A name is written on the document. Scott.

I opened the document, and a paper mentions the details of the subject. There is a sticky note stuck on the side of the paper. It states about the recorded details through telephone communication until last contact made. The paper states that Scott was taken over by a white latex, and injected the cure within the process of assimilation. The paper recorded the last five days of Scott before losing contact. I was cut off from reading when I heard the buzzer sound of the entrance door bell. I placed Scott's file on my desk and returned to collecting the scattered documents on the floor.

It took me minutes before having the documents inside the box. I placed the box on my desk and I looked at the screen of the monitor of my computer. The screen shows a live camera feed of the main entrance of the tower. I see a figure of a white wolf and a black wolf, it must be Colin and Puro. I pressed a key on my keyboard, and the front door swung open. The two stepped inside and went in front of the counter, presumably waiting for me. I approached the elevator and pressed the button using my right paw.

Riding down the elevator, I realized that I haven't visited Scott since his transfurmation. I refused to enter the tunnels in fear of the latex beasts escaping and building it's nest in the tunnels. The transfurmation of Scott raises the alarm that a few latex beast have wandered into the Botany department. If only the giant metal doors of the tunnels didn't malfunctioned that day, it wouldn't have come to this point. Reaching the lobby, the elevator doors slid open. I see the white wolf with it's blue eyes, and the black wolf. Puro waved at me with a smile on his face.

I stepped out of the elevator, and Colin raised his paw at me. "Hello K! Human and I wanted to visit you. We traveled around the city, and we got bored easily. We haven't built a home of our own yet, perhaps we can stay here?" Puro asked, his ears perked up and his black huge soft tail wagging in excitement. I looked at the white wolf Colin, and he chuckled embarrassingly. "I will allow you both to stay with me in my safe rooms, but first I need you two to come with me somewhere."

Puro hopped in response and he immediately ran towards me to grab my paws, shaking them. "Thank you K! Human and I are curious. Where are we going?" He asked as Colin approaches Puro from behind. "We are going somewhere deep." I stated and turned around before walking over to the elevator to press the button with my right paw. The elevator doors opened and I stepped inside. I turned around and saw the two step inside the elevator with me. Colin is looking at the light on the ceiling of the elevator, and Puro is looking at the elevator buttons.

"Failed... I mean- Puro, can you press the button labeled as B for me?" I asked and Puro looked through each buttons on the panel, before eventually finding the button labeled and pressing it with his right paw. The elevator moved into action, lowering us down deep into the tower. Puro looked at Colin, and he tapped his shoulder. Colin looked up at the black wolf. "Human, is this what they call an elevator?" Puro asked, and Colin nodded his head in response. A silent white wolf and a curious black wolf. What an interesting bond.

The elevator went to a stop and the elevator doors slid open, revealing the small room with a giant metal door just before the tunnels. The card reader on the wall next to the giant metal door has now been replaced with a button for a faster and safer alternative. I remembered replacing them because the card readers can't read my key card, and that the door refused to shut. I presume I replaced it hours before Scott got assimilated. I approached the giant metal door with Puro and Colin behind me. "Human, I am scared. May I hold your paw?"

My ears perked up and I turned around, Puro is now holding the paw of the white wolf Colin. Puro appears to be confident, and Colin looks calm. I pressed the button with my right paw, and the giant metal door slowly raised open. "I should tell you two about someone I met in these tunnels. Technically you are the oldest to remain in the laboratory as a human, Colin. This person however, appeared first before you even wake up from the life support. His name is Scott, and he was infected with the Pale virus just like you."

[Scott's Pov]

Day one. Minutes, or even hours after the white latex taking over me. My consciousness slowly returned. I opened my eyes, and all I see is this black tinted visor strapped onto my face. I raised my hands to inspect them, only to find that they have turned into claws. Four digits with sharp claws. My vision soon cleared up, as if the visor adjusted to what my eyes see. My arms are covered in white thick fur. I looked down to see that my whole body looks different. I am all covered in fur. My body feels oddly larger.

I feel something heavy pressed against my back side. I try to sit up right, still getting used to the new body I have. I noticed the plating over my shoulders and chest. My hips have been transformed into a metal plating. My feet are now of the hind legs of a dog. I looked over my shoulder and noticed the insanely large tail I have. It is huge! I tried standing up, but I can feel my hind legs wobble. I'm still not used to this new body. Perhaps I can reach for a notepad and write my experiences about this new body I have.
