[K's Pov]
We managed to arrive at the other end of the tunnel, and I only realized now the sign that was hanging up on the wall just above the giant metal door. Thunder Science Company Production Lane. Production lane, presumably related to a workshop where the devices used in the tower are manufactured. The sign appeared to be recently placed, and a white latex drip down from behind the sign. It seems white latex was used as an adhesive, but is never dried up. I turned around to look at the black wolf and white wolf behind me.
The two are still holding paws together. Puro raised his paw and pointed at the signboard. "There's a white latex behind the sign! You told human and I that the tunnels are secured, but why is there white latex here?" The black wolf asked, and I let out a long sigh before turning to look at the sign once again. Scott has been digging around the Botany department for random various trash. I didn't even know that this signboard existed in the first place. I approached the giant metal door and reached my paw towards the button on the wall beside the door.
I pushed the button, and the giant metal door slowly raised up. Behind the giant metal door is a small room with the elevator doors on the north side of the room. The small room is empty, and white latex puddle covers the floor of the small room. The white latex appeared to be flowing out of the elevator doors. I approached the elevator doors before feeling a paw on my left shoulder. I looked to my left and saw Puro's paw on my left shoulder. I turned around and I raised an eyebrow.
"Doctor K, may I open the elevator for you?" Puro asked and he grinned with his eyes closed. I shrugged and stepped aside, giving space for Puro to attempt to open the elevator doors. He stood in front of the elevator doors and raised his paw close to the button, pressing it repeatedly. I looked at the white wolf Colin, and he is only staring at Puro, presumably observing him. He took a glance at me and gave me a warm smile before returning his gaze to Puro. What is up with these two?
I looked at Puro, he is now attempting to force open the elevator doors with my paws with his strength. It took him a minute and the elevator doors eventually slid open. White latex gushed out of the elevator doors, some splashing all over the black wolf's fur. The black wolf turned around to look at us. His face is completely covered my gooey white latex. "Human! Please help me with taking this off." Colin and I let out a chuckle, then he approached Puro and began to help him wiping off the white latex covering his face. I took a step closer to the elevator doors and noticed the elevator all covered in white latex.
It seems that the white latex accumulated within the elevator, and is only able to seep out through the tiny gap of the elevator doors and the floor. Judging by the amount of white latex that came out, I doubt the elevator will be functioning. I turned around and saw the two now holding paws again. "Is it safe in the elevator?" Puro asked, worried about the white latex on the elevator floor. I took a step inside the elevator, and I raised my right paw to give them a "Thumbs up".
The two stepped inside the elevator, and once again Puro is the closest to the elevator buttons. Puro looked at me and glanced at the elevator buttons. "Which floor, doctor K?" I reached out my paw and pointed at the button labeled as G. Puro nodded and he pressed the button with his right paw, and soon the elevator moved into motion. It was a miracle that the elevator is able to function. The amount of white latex inside the elevator could have been enough to fry the circuits behind the elevator buttons. The Botany department really did include such technologies beyond this world.
Soon the elevator came to a stop, and the elevator doors slowly slid open. Behind the elevator doors is a hallway with white latex goo covering most of the flooring. To the right of the hall is a door. If I am correct, this door leads to a room that controls the water reserves of the Hydroponics. To the left of the hall is a series of windows with doors in between them. I took a step forward, and the two behind me followed close. Walking through the hall, I passed the first window. Through the window is a large room with white latex covering all of the flooring, and a white latex column resembling a trunk of a tree.
It's the white latex nest, similar to the latex jungle present in the tower. "I fear them before. Back then, I don't have a host. The white latex can eat us like food." I looked at Puro who has his face very close to the window, as if observing the white latex. The white latex inside the room appears to be dormant. I continued onward, passing by another window. Through the window is a large room with trees scattered around.
It looks like a green house, or a garden. The trees bear Blue Apples, and on the far end side of the room a white figure sits beside a tree. It looks different from the other white latex I have seen roaming the tower. I approached the door beside the window that leads into the room. Beside the door is a button, and I raised my paw to press it. The door did not respond and remained closed. "Don't worry Doctor K. I shall break through the window using my strength!"
I immediately turned around to look at Puro. The white wolf Colin held on Puro's arm, and Colin shook his head in disapproval. Colin looked around and found a random solid cube lying on the floor. He reached out his right paw and held the cube on his paw before turning around to throw the solid cube at the window. The solid cube is hard enough to shatter the window. The solid cube flew inside the garden and landed beside a tree, sitting on the grass. Hopefully the noise of the window shattering does not attract any unwanted attention to us.
