The Job, it's yours

"What do you mean interrogate?" Alex then asked.

"No-nothing just-forget it" Jackson sigh

"Maybe he was hard on you because you're entitled man, you have a famous family name" Cristina said. "I mean- he talks-- casually to me"

"Yeah,me yoo" Alex nodded. "Kepner, what about you?" He called.

"What?" April answered absently.

"How's your interview?" Alex repeated

"It's fine- good actually, better than I expected" April sigh leaning against her chair.

"Ms, Grey, have a sit pleas" Nick cleared his throat.

"Thank you,sir" Meredith said sitting on the chair in front of Nick's desk.

"So, what's your current position in our company?" Nick begun.

"Manager and head of Grey's Department, sir" Meredith answered shortly, but confidently.

"What's your biggest success story while working in Grey's Department,our company itself throughout the years" Nick asked.

"I believe that my biggest success is being part of this company,and being able to work with those amazing people, being able to be part of the success we made together through the years, and also being able to share my knowledge, lead them to success" Meredith answered. Nick just look at her, not showing any kind of facial expression, not wanting to show how impressed he was.

The past weeks when they arrived, he already knows that something's special about her, that she'll be successful someday, he believes that she's got a potential to creat her own company,soon.

"Why do you want to leave your old-current job?" Nick continuous after some moment.

"I am not leaving it, I am exploring I wanted more- I meam we all do,my self including." Meredith began, she stopped for a second, just
looking at Nick, straight to his eyes "I believe that I am very much capable for the position, I've earned the right to get the job that I worked hard for"

"Why do you think that you're the right person for the job?" he asked in a more serious tone, as the tension filling inside the room.

" I am committed to my job and I am very good at what I do" Meredith answered.

"Describe yourself in  3 words" Nick asked, out of blue.

"Ambitious, assertive, competitive" Meredith answered shortly.

"Ms Grey, you seems prepared for this interview" Nick said suddenly, looking at her frowning in disbelief.

"I am always prepared, sir" Meredith said smiling slightly.

"You do know that I've been watching each and everyone of you since my day 1 here, right?' Nick asked, leaning forward the table.

"Yes,sir you mentioned" Meredith answered shortly.

"I also mentioned that I asked Ms Hopper and asked her opinion about this promotion" Nick added, earning a slight nod from Meredith.

" Yes sir" Meredith said quietly.

"Then she gave me an specific person, a person who she think is very well capable for the job" Nick said. "She said,you. Specifically. She said 'Meredith Grey is very well capable for the job, and so is her co-workers but she's different from them, there's something special about her'" he tried to imitate Hopper. "Well as far as I can see, she's right you're really good at what you do" Nick said proudly.

"Thank you... sir" Meredith said, smiling slightly.

They just sat there for a moment, just feeling each other's presence.

"Just wanted to let you know that, I- as a boss, I work fair and square, and Avery-- he" before he could even finished his sentence, Meredith  interrupt him.

"He's very,very good at what he does...sir" Meredith started " I don't know what you think about him or my other colleagues, but I assure you, you can't not consider him for the job just because he's entitled, just because his grandpa is famous, a very well known surgeon" Meredith said, looking directly into his eyes, feeling a little guilt inside her after talking back at her boss. "Respectfully, sir" she added, swallowing a thick of lump that was stuck in her throat.

" I  am considering each and everyone of you,for the position, like I said. I am fair and square. But as far as I can see you're the only person I can see that deserving for this job, you're very good at you do, just like what you said." he said, walking around the table, leaning against in front of it.

"Thank you, sir" Meredith said, slightly looking down.

"Congratulations, Ms Grey" Nick said, reaching out his hand in front of her. Making Meredith looked up at him surprised.

"Sir?" Meredith asked confused.

"The job is yours" he smiled widely

"Oh my god" she exclaimed standing up shaking his hand "Thank you so much Sir, I promise I won't let you down" she added, feeling a tears of joy welling up her eyes.

"I know you won't" Nick said.
