A month had passed, Nick and Derek already started the project, a project they wanted to build together. They also visited the factory at least once a week if they have time. They're planning on creating or opening a new branch in Seattle, a separate new building just for their new branch. A 3 floor storey building in the city.
If they decide to continue it, Derek and Addison would have to permanently move to Seattle.
"Hey, how's the apartment hunting?" Meredith asked, joining Derek on the couch.
It's Sunday so it's technically their day off.
"I talked to our lawyer and he said that he's still processing the papers" Derek said with a sigh looking at his computer on his lap.
"That's your only concern now? besides your upcoming project?" Meredith asked taking a sip of her juice
"Yeah, I mean I could just look for furniture at Sparkle Paradise it'd be much easier than getting all of our staff in New York" Derek said.
"What are you gonna do with those furniture then?" Meredith asked, confused leaning against the couch.
"Well, we lived in a Penthouse so we never really had our own house in New York, so I think the only furniture we need to grab there is Addison's vanity because that was from her late mom, then the couch in our living room and bedroom that was Nick's wedding gift to us" Derek added.
"That's all?" Meredith asked amused
"Yeah, do you really think we owned all the furniture there?" Derek asked with a chuckle
"So you pretty much had a complete furniture in your penthouse in New York?" Meredith asked smiling, questioningly
"No, of course not. We also brought the tv in guest room, that's 4, and the mattresses in all bedroom that's 5. The drawer in our living room, that's 2, and of course all the comforter and throw pillows around the house" Derek said
"How many throw pillows do you have?" Meredith asked with a smile
"I'm sure... but if I remember correctly I think we have at least 17?" he said, not really sure
"You don't know the count of your own things?" she asked raising her brows
"I don't know anything about household items, okay" he said, trying to sound offended
"Was it fun living in a penthouse? I mean base on your own experience" she asked
"Yeah sure, but living in your own house with a backyard and a garden, your own garage is still different, it feels like home" Derek said with a soft smile.
"That's true, I agree" she smiled back.
"So, when are you planning on going back to New York and count your throw pillows?" she teased him.
"Not funny" he said "Maybe next week, we just have to pick it all up, our maid did all the work" he added looking back at his laptop.
"So you're selling your penthouse then?" she asked
"Yeah, we had several buyers actually. One of them was a good partner of mine we've worked before and he's willing to buy it in cash I just have to give him a price" Derek said with a sigh
"Well that's quick, I thought selling penthouse is much harder than I thought" Meredith replied
"It depends, actually. You have to find a good buyer so that they'll also offer you a good price" Derek said. "You wanna come?" he then asked
"Where?"
"New York, we can spent the weekend there. I'll asked Nick" he said with a smile
"Yeah,sure" she smiled back
"Hey!" they both heard from behind.
Meredith turned around to see Andrew walking towards the living room, dripping wet.
"Andrew, stai gocciolando!" Meredith said with a chuckle
("Andrew, you're dropping!")
"Uh yeah, I went for a swim, wanna come?" he asked.
"Yeah sure" she smiled at him before turning to Derek "You coming?" she asked standing up.
"No thanks, I'm waiting for a call" Derek replied with a small smile, earning a understanding nod from Meredith.
~~
"You didn't wait for me" Andrew heard from behind. He turned around to see Meredith walking towards him wearing a black two piece and a sunglasses.
"What?" he asked absently,as if he didn't hear what she said.
"You said you'd wait for me" she repeated taking the glass of juice from his hand. "You weren't there anymore when I came out of my room" she added
"Yeah sorry, I had to answer a call" he replied looking away.
"This is refreshing" Meredith sigh in relief, referring to the juice
"Yeah, it's fresh I made it myself" Andrew answered
"Really? Can you also make a smoothie?" she teased
"Yeah, it's one of my talents actually" he smiled
"And what are your talents?" she turned towards him
"I think you already know one of them" he said looking at her with a big grin on his face
"Cocky" she rolled her eyes at him playfully while putting the glass on the table
"Cocky huh?" he raised his eyebrows at her
"Very" she added
He grab her waist and jumped on the pool with her causing her to laugh and scream.
"Still cocky?" he asked teasingly holding her by her waist holding her close
"Still and will always be" she gave back teasingly smiling at him.
"I have to tell you something" he said suddenly, looking into her eyes
To be continued...
