You walked out of the house with your head held high. It was actually quite clear that there was a bruise forming, and when the sun shone down on your skin, the purplish grey hue covered with a think layer of concealer was quite visible.

You weren't a big make-up artist, and usually you didn't need to either. You would just tap on a little bit of foundation, eyeliner and a bit of chapstick for formality. Thinking that one day you would have to use heavy make-up to conceal bruises most probably was the last thing you wanted to do and when you had to do that, you simply weren't able to blend it out as good as assistant Kang did when she concealed all of those bruises from last night. Infact, with your miserable make-up skills, it actually looked worse then it actually was. Or so you thought.

As soon as you walked out of the gates of your house, your assistant abruptly turned around. Her eyes were concerned and she asked, "Are you alright, Doctor-nim?" You both continued walking, as you were about to reply to her words with a nod when you felt a hand grab your wrist. You turned back and saw Bangchan standing by the gates. His face twisted in a disquiet frown, and his eyes slid down to the concealed bruise on your face. You pulled your wrist out of his hand in an indifferent manner, making him suddenly realise that he had been holding your hand the entire time.

You had an indifferent look on your face as you stood in the empty street, with your assistant. You calmly waited for him to speak up. On the other hand, Bangchan couldn't have felt the same, as he was too embarassed for suddenly stopping you on impulse. His hand coming up to scratch his neck, and his eyes were on the ground. A million thoughts raced his mind, and when he saw your impatient face he took in a deep breath. His eyes kept falling on your cheek, and they glazed over in concern when he finally found himself staring in your eyes.

He found it weirdly distressing just staring in your brown pair of eyes. Somehow when he looked into them, they made him feel anxious. The brown irises that shone under the sun, casted a dark shadow on his heart even on a beautiful sunny day. He could see specks of gold in them, and he wondered if they were sculpted by the God himself, for being so enchanting. But oddly, they weren't radiating comfort, they didn't seem to be healing, they didn't seem to shine.

Your eyes were dull. Lifeless. Dead.

They carried a blank expression, as if the world around you didn't exist. As if it was all an illusion. Seeing the movement of your black pupils, as they looked at him with increasing impatience, Bangchan could only think of how the eyes represented him the feeling staring at a stone would give him.

Maybe he should have looked in deeper......

"Mr. Bang? If you have nothing to say I just might as well just leave, because unlike an idol, if I get late there could possibly be more dead bodies then necessary." Your words were sharp. He looked down in embarrassment, before shaking his head, "I.....I am sorry, Y/n-shi." He looked straight in your eyes and with a little softness, when his voice spoke up his voice wasn't exactly loud. "Y/n-shi, Next time, if you ever have to go out late at night; for whatever reason, please just drop me a call so I can pick you up and drop you to your destination. Late nights in Seoul aren't safe for women."

Your face had gone blank at his words but assistant Kang was the one who reacted. Her eyes widened seeing the idol caring for her boss, and a slow grin was creeping up her lips, as she internally started screaming of how cute of a couple you both would make.

You didn't think so.

You nodded your head but the words on your lips opposed his kindness, "I appreciate your kindness, Mr. Bang But there won't be a next time for this situation." Bangchan shook his head, "It's not about this situation, you should never be alone at night, Y/n-shi. It's dangerous." Your lips curled up in an ironic smile, which Bangchan took as in a form of gratitude. You laughed at the irony, you knew already, how dangerous it was outside at night, but what options do you have, huh?
