The Headmaster had us returned to the GATE Academy that same night, for fear of some harm falling upon us that night or in the day/days to follow. I understood why the Headmaster felt so, but, with my own observations, it actually seemed like the students of DH had grown a respect for us at GATE. After the fights, I remember leaving their Colosseum as the student body just watched us leave in awe.
It had only been two days since my trip to the Dark Hearts Academy and I sat on the edge of my bed in my lonesome dorm, a notebook with scribbled drawings of new designs for some things that had come to mind earlier, random things like an automatic breakfast maker and more ergonomic electrical toothbrush.
My room was quiet as usual, a solitude that I've grown used to now and, while I appreciate it, have also been susceptible to boredom, which is horrible. I picked up my aPhone from besides me and pulled up the pull-up menu, which, unlike the iPhone, pulls up completely to open up a full screen of features, and pressed the "Play" button on the screen, causing an always-connected Bluetooth speaker to start playing some Weezer.
I may be of Japanese descent, but my "cultural identity" is like more of that of a Western American teenager living during the early 2000s, with a weakness to pop songs because of their catchiness sometimes. Music has always been a love for me, and I really do believe Western music took a downhill trip after 2000, and I don't even bother with Japanese stuff, I don't speak or understand the language so, that's that.
The song "My Name Is Jonas" came on, a mainstream, but still likable Weezer song, as somebody knocked on my door. I stood up, pocketed my aPhone, and strode over to the door, opening it, not really expecting Riku or Keita, as school just ended and Riku usually naps until 4:30 (we get out at 3) unless we have something planned. Keita, while Riku naps, sometimes wanders around the school or makes his way down to the beach or forest for some soul searching.
Faith stood at my doorway with arms crossed, not necessarily in a "sassy" manner, but it did seem like the five seconds that it took for me to answer the door was too long for her.
"Oh, hey there Faith," I greeted her, not expecting her to show up at my dorm at all. I don't even remember telling her my dorm number in all honesty.
"Hey Shizuo, you busy right now?" She asked with a smile, uncrossing her arms folding them behind her back.
Faith's body language made me question her intentions with her unexpected visit.
"No, why? What's up? Need a hand with something?" I replied to her question.
Faith shrugged, "Not really, just bored and thought that maybe you and I could hang out, is there a problem with that?"
Demanding much?
I leaned back and looked into my room, which was actually pretty clean, except for my study desk, and came back up to Faith.
"You want to come inside then? I can whip up a snack if you want," I said, grinning as I stepped back into my room.
Faith nodded her head and walked past me into my room, looking around the room the way an innocent child does.
"It smells good in here, why?" She asked, seeming to make small talk.
I looked over at the open bathroom door at the end of the room, "New air freshener for my bathroom, but... Why are you really here, Faith?"
I asked as I walked past her and walked into the kitchen, putting on an apron with several kittens wearing Santa hats, and preparing certain ingredients to make some deli sandwiches.
Faith sat herself down on the spare bed in my room, then laid herself down on it, sighing as she lowered her arms to her side, seemingly stressed over something.
