Author Update

Hi Readers, LOOOOOONG time no see, and I sincerely apologize for that! Just thought I'd give you guys a quick update after a... what, 3-month absence? Something like that...

My summer was incredibly busy, and I wasn't even in school. My hours for work were weekdays 6am - 3pm, but were flexible with the starting time, just as long as I put in my 8 hours (with an hour lunch to make it a 9 hour work day), so I would more often than not leave later than 3. I don't know if I've mentioned this in previous author's notes, but I also serve at my church on the worship team playing drums or leading w/ vocals and guitar on Sunday mornings and Tuesday and Wednesday nights. So from it seems, I should have a lot of free time between Monday, Thursday, and Friday nights and Saturdays, right?

I wish.

My parents, who I had lived with, moved to Texas at the end of August, but the time spent packing and cleaning everything, just... man... The nights that I wasn't doing anything were spent staying up past midnight preparing for their, my sister's, and my leave from the house. Very stressful two months of packing, a seemingly Sisyphean task, but I am so glad that it's all done and over with now! Another thing contributing to my inactivity here was the fact that I House/cat sat with my friend at her aunt's house any night I was "free" during the month of July.

Sooooo.... flash forward to now and things still haven't really died down. I still work full days on Mon, Wed, and Fri and am back in school; however, only on Tues, Thurs, and Sat morning (not as bad as it sounds haha). Things are definitely less stressful for me now that the packing's done, but I still don't have much time to do anything outside of my commitments between church, work, and school. However, since my new residence is pretty far from church, work, and school I often have hour+ gaps of time between destinations, which I've been spending reading for fun, real, paper and cover books too! Craziness, right??

If you've stayed with me up to this point, I applaud you, I really appreciate it. There is plenty more to my hectic summer that I won't go into, just know that this season in my life was just inundated with intense stress, change, confusion, and tons of other things that consumed me for a good bit. But hey, I'm glad to say that all is done now and I've moved past it, so it's time to refocus myself on the things that matter!

In terms of book stuff here, well, can't promise updates every other week, just know that I AM still working on my GATE book when I have time (which, evidently, hasn't been much). I'm definitely not at a block with this next GATE chapter, but to continue on with the GATE spirit and to stimulate or inspiration for my main book's continuation, I plan on starting to write short stories in my GATE Origins book. So if you haven't already, make sure to take a look at it and keep an eye out for updates! The whole thing is intended to be supplementary material to my main GATE Academy book, so consider it as an extension.

***Important*** At the beginning of summer, the GATE Vets launched/started a GATE Academy RP chat on Kik and I just wanted to extend an invitation to anyone who might stumble upon this update. The group hashtag is #fantasyroleplay123. If the group is full (which it has been several times already), feel free to shoot me a PM @ "Stonerawks" on there (or here, if you want, definitely won't reply as quick). If you've been reading my or my friends' GATE Academy stories and just can't get enough, what better way to get it by joining us?! Or if that's not the case and just want to join a Kik RP group, we'd love to have you as well. We're an active group, unlike other RP groups that often fizzle out after a certain time, and, even if we're not RPing, our OOC (Out Of Character) chat is full of conversation, where you can meet and talk to the fellow RPers outside of the RP itself!

Let's see... sob story, story updates, GATE Origins, Kik RP group... I think that's about it! If you have any other questions for me, don't be afraid to reach out to me, please do! I love your guys' feedback and response, it always pleasantly surprises me when I see a comment from a new person, especially in later chapters!
