I walked away from my house feeling confident. I didn't have to sneak out the window this time. Nobody was around, so I was just able to walk out the door.
I'm kind of glad I didn't run into my parents. I don't know what I would say to them if I did.
I packed bags for the trip, they had food, and other stuff I would need for the adventure. I also had my weapons. I was ready.
First I started towards the woods, but then I stopped. I tried to get help from the fox village and that didn't work. In my frustration, I almost forgot about the wolf village. They might be more open to helping me because of me being their princess. And Lukas talked to some of the boys, so they might want to help.
I turned into my animal form and ran for the village. Once I got close enough to the village, I turned back into my human form to walk the rest of the way. I saw some girls my age looking at me and whispering.
They weren't around last time I came to the village with Lukas. I guess there just surprised that I'm here. I mean it isn't that weird that I'm in the village. I come once every other week, usually to get something from a store for my parents, but still. I recognized one of the girls from the small group. It was Sophie.
Sophie was a 'childhood friend' I guess. I was like six or something when we became friends. But a couple months later it was pretty clear that she didn't really want to be friends with me. She never liked any of the things that I liked, and was constantly trying to get me to do things that 'most princesses liked', or at least that was what she said. Even though she wasn't a princess she acted like she was.
Sophie tried to use her so-called friendship with me to gain bragging rights around other girls. She loved to hang around Jessica and my parents.
Eventually I stood up to her, and she has been mad at me ever since.
She wasn't the time that I tried to make friends. I've met some of the other girls before. They seemed nice, but they didn't talk much, they also didn't like the things that I liked. Like books, adventure, and exploring, they were more into talking about boys, and clothes. Some liked the things that I liked but were scared to talk to me because of me being the princess.
After I stopped being friends with Sophie, she spread rumors about me being some really spoiled, controlling, bratty princess that no one would want to be friends with. No one really talked or tried to be friends with me after that. By now I'm sure that no one even remembers those rumors.
Then I kind of went to this solitary place in my mind, where I was okay with not having any friends, I was in the woods a lot after that.
I looked around for the group of boys that Lukas talked to. I saw them standing around, talking.
I walked over.
"Hel-lo princess, What brings you by?" one asked, He took a step closer to me, and I took a step back."I'm Juan, and I just want to say you look prettier than ever., Princess." He bowed.
"Uh... okay... I am here because I need your help," I explained, "Lukas was captured by hunters, and we need to rescue him." He stood back up.
"Lukas, that's that boy you were with last time you came to the village," Juan asked.
"Why should we rescue him? My father's a royal guard, and he said that the Princess's 'new friend' turned out to be a fox," another one jumped in.
"Because that would be the right thing to do, and he's not evil like everyone says he is. If my dad and the royal guard won't rescue him then it's up to us." I pushed.
