it's been a few days since the crash. I've basically stayed in my room doing nothing. Mavericks been a really big help coming and visiting me every time he has a chance. I'm supposed to get back into flying today but I really don't feel like it. It's 5:00 Am and my alarm goes off. I slowly reach my arm over and turn it off. Bracing myself for the day I jump up and get changed. Heading out of my room I see Iceman walking down the hall. "hey
Y/N how are you feeling?" . He asks leaning a hand on my shoulder. "fine." I reply. "look I'm really sorry about Ducker. You guys flew great together." He says with a small smile on his face. "thanks" I say squeezing past him. I head to get some food before training.

"hey goose". I say walking through the door. "Y/N, finally". He says walking over to me giving me a big hug. "how are you feeling? Ready to fly again." He asks. "I guess." I reply leaning my head on his chest. "don't worry Y/N I'll be there with Mav the whole time.". "speaking of mav where is he?" I ask. "I have absolutely no idea." He says letting go of me. "that's weird." I say but just shrug it off. "okay well see you on the air goose." I say walking to grab a tray of food. as I grab my food I go and sit in a corner alone. I would usually eat my food with Ducker. A wave of sadness hits me and I'm suddenly not very hungry anymore.

"As you all know a few days ago we had an accident regarding one of our planes." Viper says. As we are sitting in our chairs I notice a new recruit sitting behind at the back of the room. "who's that?" I ask Maverick. he turns to look at the new guy. "no clue." He says turning back around. "Leaving Chipper with no RIO." He says looking at me. "Chipper. Your new RIO is Fallout." He says looking at the young Recruit sitting at the back of the room. "I'm sure you two will get along well." "Dismissed, and remember there's no points for second place." He yells walking out of the room. "Hey im Eddie, Eddie Wing." The new recruit says as he comes up to me. "Y/N, Y/N Y/L/N" I say putting a hand out which he happily takes. "Ready to get In the air?" I ask. "Hell yeah." He says running towards the jets. "Good luck." Maverick says blowing me a kiss. I roll my eyes at him knowing that I have to do the best today to show everyone I'm not just a pushover. "Alright ladies let's see what we've got today" iceman says over the mics. "Is that supposed to be an insult iceman?" Goose asks. There was no response. "Seven bogeys up ahead." Fallout yells to me. " seven?' I repeat to him. "Yes seven." He says back. "holy shit we might need to get Hollywood out here." I hear Maverick say over the coms. "Chipper to base, any chance we can get Hollywood out here for extra help?. Over." I wait a few seconds for a response. "Affirmative Chipper he's getting racked up now. Over." "Okay until he gets here let's hold things down shall we?" I say turning my jet into a tight dive.
