You'd been friend with Marc and Steven for a year now, you had even helped them when they worked for Khonshu or when they were trying to save the world. You weren't one to fight hand to hand though, you were just a tech geek that could get information or hack things for them.
But after all that had ended you'd spent a lot more time with them and now you were trying your best to get to know Jake.
But he wasn't as thrilled as you were.
You were walking along the street with Steven, you had both gotten some ice cream and were just walking around, but suddenly he stopped.

"Steven?" You asked looking at him and you saw his face change.
He looked at you and groaned.

"Ice cream seriously? We aren't ten." He muttered and you knew it was Jake.

"You don't have to eat it, we can go get a coffee." You suggested.

"Fine." He said throwing the ice cream in the trash, you walked into the nearest cafe and waited for him to order a coffee.
He exited and you began walking again.

"Let's get back to the apartment." He said as you nodded, you'd been living with them for the moment. Some things had gone down and you didn't have anywhere to live so Marc and Steven let you move in until you could find somewhere.

"Remind me why you live with us." Jake said as you entered the elevator in the apartment building.

"I-It's just until I find somewhere else." You muttered rubbing the back of your neck nervously.

"You had a place to live, what happened to it?" He asked before the elevator opened and you walked down the hall.

"Some things happened that's all." You replied going into the apartment as Jake grabbed your arm.

"I'm not a fan of liars Y/N." He said as you glared at him.

"I'm not lying, it's just none of your business." You growled in defence as he smiled and shoved you back making you fall down.

"It's my business when you're living in my home, it's my business when you're around us every single day and it's my business because I said so. So let me ask again. What happened?" He growled kneeling down to face you as you looked at him in fear.

"S-Someone knew I lived there, I had to get away so they wouldn't find me." You whispered as he narrowed his eyes.

"Who?" He growled as you closed your eyes and shook your head.

"Just leave me alone Jake." You whispered as he grabbed your chin making your eyes open in shock.

"I won't ask again." He growled as you felt tears in your eyes.

"Please, I'm sorry." You whispered as he looked at you in confusion.

"I'll do what you say I promise, please don't hurt me again father." You whispered as he pulled away and looked at you.

"What?" He muttered as you shook your head and looked around.

"I-I mean, I mean Jake." You whispered closing your eyes.
It answered Jake's question though, who you were running from.

"Are you fucking satisfied?" You growled standing up and walking away from him.

"Fuck you Jake." You growled, there was a moment of silence before he rushed forward and hugged you.

"What the fuck are you doing?" You growled, but he would let go.

"Love, what did Jake do?" You heard Steven's voice as you sighed in relief.
You turned around in his arms and hugged him tightly.

"He kept asking me why I lived here with you guys, and then he scared me. I just wanted to try and make friends with him." You whispered as he ran his hand through your hair.

Steven had calmed you down and you now laid on his chest as he ran his hand through your hair, suddenly he stopped and you looked up to see a familiar face.
You quickly got off of him and faced your back to him sitting on the side of the bed.

"Y/N, I'm sorry. I went too far." He said as you chuckled dryly and shook your head.

"You think?" You growled still not looking at him.
He stood up and sat beside you on the bed.

"Carinõ, I shouldn't have pushed you that far. I realise now I need to change my way of getting information from people. I thought you just wanted something from us, it never crossed my mind that it wasn't even your choice and that this was the only place you could be safe." He said as you looked beside at him with your red puffy eyes.

"I would really like it if we could be friends Y/N." He whispered as you leant your head on his shoulder.

"I would like that too."
