Reason and the Fears

He left without another word to his room and Tony followed shortly and saw Steve looking outside through their huge window.

Now

"Ste-", he was interrupted by Steve who had sensed him come in, "Why did you do it?", Steve asked and Tony looked surprised.

"What?", he asked and Steve turned to look at him, "You won't do it without any reason, I know you", Steve said and Tony smiled.

But his smile dropped as Steve raised an eyebrow, "Yes I have a reason, a pretty big and bad one actually", Tony said and Steve's gaze softened and turned into a worried one.

"What's wrong Tony?", he asked softly walking towards Tony and holding the brunette's hands, leading them towards the bed.

Tony looked into Steve's eyes as they sat down on the bed ready to tell everything and remembered the vision and his eyes automatically teared up.

Steve started panicking, Tony rarely cries, he mostly express that emotion through anger, by shouting or commenting, unless it was private and heartbreaking.

"What's wrong baby? Did something happen?", Steve asked wiping Tony's tears and Tony hugged him tightly.

"I had a vision Steve, a nightmare, one of the enhanced showed me", Tony said and pulled away looking into Steve's eyes.

He started telling the whole thing and Steve listened to it patiently respecting Tony, even though he wanted to interrupt many many times.

"You died Steve, you died in front of my eyes", Tony said shaking a bit and Steve hugging him shushing him softly.

"I am here sweetie, well and alive and breathing, holding you and you can't get rid of me that easily", Steve said and Tony chuckled softly.

 "I don't want to, so you are stuck with me", Tony said and Steve pulled away and kissed Tony's forehead.

"I wouldn't want it any other way", Steve said and the two shared a kiss, which led into something more.

~ The Next Day ~

Hill came up earlier with the news of Ultron and the Maximoff twins and Steve gathered the team up and showed everyone what Ultron had done.

They decided to do some researches manually after finding out everything about Strucker has been erased from the computers.

That's when a picture of Ulysses Klaue came up, "Wait. I know that guy", Tony said and Bruce looked at the photo.

"From back in the day. He operates off the African coast, black market arms", he continued and Steve gave him an accusing glance.

"There are conventions, alright? You meet people, I didn't sell him anything. I promise baby", Tony said and Steve smiled.

That's when Thor pointed out a brand on Klaue's neck and Bruce started searching for it, "Oh, yeah. It's a word in an African dialect meaning thief, in a much less friendly way", Bruce said.

"What dialect?", Steve asked, "Wakanada...? Wa...Wa...Wakanda", Bruce said and Tony and Steve looked at each other.

"If this guy got out of Wakanda with some of their trade goods...", Tony trailed, "I thought your father said he got the last of it?", Steve asked and Bruce got up.

"I don't follow. What comes out of Wakanda?", Bruce asked and the husbands looked at Steve's shield.

"The strongest metal on earth", Tony said and Steve looked at him, "Where is this guy now?", he asked and Tony immediately asked Jarvis and they left to find Ultron already there.

As they were fighting Wanda Maximoff started showing everyone their fears, except for Tony who went after rogue Hulk.

Steve suddenly was in 40s again and all were celebrating when someone held his arm from behind, an unfamiliar touch.

He turned to see Peggy and was shocked for a minute, "Are you ready for our dance?", she asked, "Tony?", he asked looking around not finding his husband.

"Tony is not here Steve, you are home, the war is over", Peggy said and Steve looked at his left hand to see his wedding ring missing.

"No", he said and suddenly everyone vanished and he tried snapping out and couldn't and thought of his family, his sons, his husband.

Tony in his arms, the two dancing happily and he immediately felt the fear vanish and came back to reality, but he was pretty shaken.

Everyone was shaken and he learned that the Hulk had done some damage and all got into the quinjet.

Steve hugged Tony immediately and Tony understood that Steve was also shown something and decided to talk it when they were alone.

Hill told them to stay hidden for some time and asked how was everyone, "Everyone's...we took a hit. We'll shake it off", Tony said and saw Steve in deep thoughts while looking at their wedding ring.

He asked Clint if he was ok with piloting the whole time and after Clint said he was Tony went to sit with Steve.

He sat next to Steve and held the blonde's hand in a comforting manner making Steve snap out of his thoughts and smile at Tony softy.

"It's alright, I am here, we all are", Tony said and laid his head on Steve's shoulder, who held him close to his chest.

The next morning they landed and walked to a farmhouse, which Clint said was a safe house and was met with a surprise.

Clint kissed a pregnant women making everyone except Nat surprised, suddenly they heard footsteps running and saw four kids running towards them.

Two of which was Peter and Harley, whom upon seeing the parents jumped on them and the family had a moment.

"Thank god you two are alright", Tony said sighing along with Steve who breathed out a relief after seeing the vision.

"We had fun dad, Cooper and Lila were awesome, we played games", Harley explained and the parents chuckled.

"Where's aunt Nat?", Peter asked and Nat who was still in recovery smiled, "I am here ребенок паук", she said and Peter jumped into her arms.

"Uncle Thor!", Harley screamed seeing his uncle and Thor smiled and took him into his arms, "Thank you for looking after them", Steve said to Laura who smiled.

"Oh it's no big deal, they were the best", she said and the parents smiled, Steve saw Harley jump into Clint's arms and Thor leaving and followed him.

"Thor", Steve said and Thor left saying he needed to find some answers and Steve decided to take a walk.

He came back to find Tony already waiting for him and knew he had to talk with Tony, "Tones, I need to talk to you honey", Steve said.

"I figured baby, come on let's got to our room", Tony said and Steve smiled and took Tony's hands both walking to the room.

They opened the door and went inside and Steve went into the bathroom to freshen up and came out and started changing into his clothes.

All this time he was silent, thinking and Tony respected it and remained silent but he couldn't anymore, "What did she show you Steve?", he asked and Steve snapped up looking into Tony's eyes.
