Now

It had been two days since the arrival of Peggy Carter and Howard Stark and the awkwardness had reduced and so far no problem had arisen.

But maybe because of that or maybe the crime rate had reduced less than before Thanos, a sudden attack happened in the tower.

Everyone was doing their work, and Tony was in his lab with Peter when they heard Jarvis's voice.

"Sir an unknown species is making its way towards the tower", Jarvis said and Tony and Peter looked up at each other.

Tony nodded and Peter jumped and took his suit, Tony hit the attack alert button, got into his suit, and ran to the living room.

All were assembled, "So I guess you know what's happening?", Tony asked and they all nodded and as soon as they nodded they heard the windows break.

They looked out the windows ready in their positions and saw the worst type of animal they had seen.

"Bilge snipes", Thor said, "I am sorry what now?", Tony asked as Howard and Peggy rushed looking shocked.

"Out", Thor said to them and the two rushed out, "Shoot them, blast them if you could, but please don't hit them", Thor said.

"My expertise", Tony said and started flying and soon started blasting the, Thor also used his lightning and Clint also shot his arrows and within minutes all were dead.

Nat, Steve, Bruce, and Peter didn't do much but they weren't complaining, as soon as the whole fiasco finished Tony let his suit fly away and walked towards the window.

"That's a lot of damage and that blood is disgusting, I am not cleaning them", he said and the others smiled.

"You never do", Clint said as all of them removed their gears and some went to change, Howard and Peggy were shocked.

They thought they were gonna die, but these people not only killed those alien animals but were having fun after it.

Steve came after changing and checked Tony for wounds quickly, who let him without any objection and with a fond smile on his face.

He quickly kissed Tony after checking and the others also came, "To the meeting room, now", Steve said and they all nodded.

They left Howard and Peggy but didn't say not to follow them so they did, they entered the room and were somehow familiar with it.

It was like a war table for them, "Thor how do you know them?", Steve asked who was standing, "They come from another world, a world closer to Asgard", Thor said and paused.

Asgard was destroyed after the fight with Hela and it was always a sore topic for him, "And.. they only come to Asgard because of the rainbow bridge, but ever since Asgard was destr... destroyed", Thor again paused.

"It shouldn't be possible, they shouldn't have a way out unless...", Thor said and paused again this time in shock and understanding.

"Unless what? Thor?", Steve asked and Thor snapped out, "Unless there is a Bifrost doorway open somewhere", Thor said and looked at the others.

All the others said the same thing together, "Close it", they said and Thor looked uncertain, "I can't close it, but I can... I... have to... destroy it", he said.

Immediately all looked at Steve and he understood, "Thor", he said and stood up, "I understand the feeling", he said and Tony looked down clearly understanding, all understood.

"I had to leave my home when it was needed", he said and looked at Peggy who had tears in her eyes.

"It was hard for me and the only thing I had from that time was my suit and the compass with Peggy's picture", he said and Peggy smiled with her tears.

"And I wanted to hold on to it as long as I could, but when Tony changed the suit for me I realized how much I needed it and how much other people depended on it, and later as soon as I understood that this was my home and this was my missing piece, I decided to leave my past even though it was hard at that time", Steve continued.

"You guys were there for me and I took the next step on letting go of my past, by changing the picture, so I know it will be hard especially since the Bifrost is the last thing you have of your home, but we are here for you", Steve said and Thor smiled.

All smiled and Thor hugged him, "Thank you", he said and Steve patted him on the back, Thor looked at the others.

"I will be right back", he said and the window on his side lowered and he flew out with both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir.

Steve and the others smiled and Tony joined next to Steve, side hugging his husband, "Hey", he said softly rubbing Steve's back.

Steve looked at Tony and kissed the brunette's forehead, "You alright?", Tony asked and Steve nodded.

Peggy and Howard who were the only audience now realized that they can't even think of going through what these people went through and are going through.

"It's ok", Tony said softly and Steve took deep breaths, and turned towards the others, "You guys can leave", he said and they all nodded and left except Howard.

"Howard", Steve started, "Anth- Tony", he said and both the husbands looked surprised and Steve nodded at Tony.

"Dad", Tony said for the first time in years, even before his parents' death Tony stopped saying dad ever since he was 10.

Howard was surprised by this, "I am sorry, to both of you, especially you Tony", Howard said and Tony shook his head.

"Dad, don't", Tony said and Howard held his hand up, "No I have to do this, I have always condemned you, but I was wrong", Howard said.

"I just want to say I am proud of you, always have been and I am genuinely happy for you", Howard finished and Tony gasped and held Steve's hand who squeezed it lightly.

He just wanted his father to be happy for him, but this was too much, he felt Steve let go of his hand and looked towards his husband.

Steve nodded and urged Tony front who was doubtful at first but after looking at his father he walked front and hugged his father.

His father hugged him back tightly and Tony cried on his father's shoulder, for the first time ever in his life.

Steve left them both and joined the others with a huge smile on his face, "What happened?", Clint asked seeing the smile and Steve explained.

They also smiled happily, "Finally", Nat said and they all plopped on the couch and soon enough Tony and Howard joined, not any awkwardness between them anymore.

Tony sat next to Steve who immediately pulled the brunette into his arms and felt Tony's happiness and ease which made him happier.

He kissed Tony's head and Thor flew in, Nat immediately got up and hugged Thor, who hugged her back breathing deeply before breaking away with a smile on his face.

"You were right, it was hard, but my family is here", Thor said and they welcomed him on the couch.

Howard, who was not surprised, not anymore looked at them with a smile on his face and saw how strong this family was.

Not only physically, but mentally and they were connected deeply, they understood each other, but he also saw something else.

The love they had for each other was true and real, they trusted each other and protected each other equally.

They fought for each other and fought with each other but one thing was sure they did it all together...
