Beginning of Vision

All this time he was silent, thinking and Tony respected it and remained silent but he couldn't anymore, "What did she show you Steve?", he asked and Steve snapped up looking into Tony's eyes.

Now

"One of my worst nightmares", Steve said and sat next to Tony, who turned his body fully to face Steve.

Steve took Tony's hand in his and started telling the whole vision he had and slowly tears started falling as he finished the story.

"You weren't there Tony, nor our boys, our family, no one was there, because I was in the 40s, but I don't want that", Steve said.

Tony smiled sadly and hugged Steve, "I know Stevie and you won't have it, we are here, I am here, the boys are playing next door, the team, our family is here baby", Tony said and softly stroked the blonde's hair.

Steve calmed down slowly and they decided to do something to take their minds away from these visions and went out.

Clint told them to chop some woods and they did together, ""Earth's Mightiest Heroes." Pulled us apart like cotton candy", Steve said as Tony asked about Thor.

They noticed everyone's different posture, except Clint who thankfully didn't see anything and Steve who had seen gruesome wars and knows how to compose himself outside, even if he is in pain inside.

"Nat and Banner, they were the worst, I have never seen Nat like that", Tony said and Steve sighed.

"You know Nat's past, I am guessing that witch showed her something related to it", Steve said and Tony nodded.

As the team grew closer after Loki, they shared a lot and Nat's past had shaken everyone when they heard about it the first time.

"You know Ultron is trying to tear us apart, right?", Tony asked, "Banner and I were doing research", Tony said sensing Steve's anger.

"That would affect the team", Steve said, "That would end the team. Isn't that the mission? Isn't that the "why" we fight, so we can end the fight, so we get to go home?", Tony asked and Steve pulled a wood apart with his bare hands.

"Every time someone tries to win a war before it starts, innocent people die. Every time", he said and Tony gulped.

"First of all that was damn hot and I said I was sorry baby", Tony said and Steve couldn't stay angry anymore.

He chuckled as Laura came and asked Tony for help with their tractor, "Don't take from my pile", Tony said as he left and Steve chuckled.

"Hello, Deere. Tell me everything. What ails you?", Tony asked the tractor and heard a voice behind him.

"Do me a favor. Try not to bring it to life", Fury said and Tony turned around surprised, "You're not the director of me", Tony said as Fury told Tony about Ultron.

"I'm not the director of anybody. I'm just an old man, who cares very much about you", Fury said and Tony sighed.

"And I'm the man who killed the Avengers. I saw it. I didn't tell the team, how could I? I saw them all dead, Nick. I felt it. The whole world, too. It's because of me. I wasn't ready. I didn't do all I could", Tony said.

"The Maximoff girl, she's working you, Stark-Rogers. Playing on your fear", Fury said and Tony shook his head.

"I wasn't tricked, I was shown. It wasn't a nightmare, it was my legacy. The end of the path I started us on", Tony said guiltily.

"You've come up with some pretty impressive inventions, Tony. War isn't one of them", Fury said, "I watched my family die. You'd think that'd be as bad as it gets, right? Nope. Wasn't the worst part", Tony said.

Fury sighed knowing what Tony was trying to say, "The worst part is that you didn't", he said and Tony nodded looking away.

"Come on we need to talk with the team", Fury said and they walked out of the shed and Steve saw them and sighed.

He was waiting for this, he nodded at Fury and went inside and gathered the team, Fury told them the information he had bought them.

"Well, this is good times, boss, but I was kind of hoping when I saw you, you'd have more than that", Natasha said.

"I do, I have you. Back in the day, I had eyes everywhere, ears everywhere else. Here we all are, back on earth, with nothing but our wit, and our will to save the world. So stand. Outwit the platinum bastard", Fury said.

"Steve doesn't like that kind of talk", Natasha said and Tony smiled, "You know what, Romanoff?", Steve said and she smiled at him mischievously.

"So what does he want?", Fury asked, "To become better. Better than us. He keeps building bodies", Steve said.

"Person bodies. The human form is inefficient, biologically speaking, we're outmoded. But he keeps coming back to it", Tony continued.

"Dad! Dad! I want to do it", Peter jumped taking the darts from Tony, who smiled and Clint assisted the child as Harley fell asleep in Steve's arms.

"When you two programmed him to protect the human race, you amazingly failed", Nat said to Bruce and Tony.

"They don't need to be protected, they need to evolve. Ultron's going to evolve", Bruce said seeing a picture of Lila's.

"How?", Fury asked, "Has anyone been in contact with Helen Cho?", he asked, "Shit", Tony muttered under his breath.

"Language", Steve said and Tony looked at Steve with a raised brow and Steve shrugged as he swayed Harley.

"Ok sleep time Underoos", Tony said lifting Peter in his arms who obediently laid his head on Tony's shoulder and drifted to sleep.

"Get ready we are leaving", Steve said, "Look after them for another day or two, we'll be back", Tony said to Laura.

"Don't worry about them, they'll be safe", Laura said and Tony smiled at her and the parents laid the twins in Cooper's room.

They kissed the twins forehead and left to get ready, "I'll take Natasha and Clint", Steve said taking the shield.

"Alright, strictly recon. I'll hit the NEXUS, I'll join you as soon as I can", Tony said, "If Ultron is really building a body...", Steve trailed.

"He'll be more powerful than any of us. Maybe all of us. An android designed by a robot", Tony said and Steve sighed.

"You know I really miss the days when the weirdest thing science ever created was me", Steve said and Tony chuckled.

Fury instructed them and left and Tony pulled Steve towards him and the two kissed, they broke apart with their foreheads touching.

"I love you", Tony said, "I love you too", Steve said smiling softly, "We will be alright, we will win", Steve said.

"I hope so", Tony said and they went to face Ultron and learned that he was uploading himself in a body.

They retrieved the body and the Maximoff twins joined them, but Ultron took Nat away, "The Cradle, did you get it?", Wanda asked.

"Tony will take care of it", Steve said, "No, he won't", Wanda said, "You don't know what you're talking about, Tony's not crazy", Steve said.

"He will do anything to make things right", Wanda said and Steve knew she was right and immediately left to the tower.
