Our suspect threw me face first into the hard asphalt of the parking lot.

We were on an undercover operation. Our mission was to track down ex-navy Stephen Braning. He had no girlfriend and no kids. For the last few months he had been working with a big drug cartel in Los Angeles.

I groaned as I rolled onto my back. Within seconds I was back on my feet. Before I could react I was once again thrown onto the hard ground. This time a sharp pain ran trough my left arm.

A gunshot rang out. Stephen fell to ground with a bullet imbedded in his thigh. Callen and Sam went to arrest him.

Deeks ran to my side. "Kens? Are you ok?". "Yeah, I'm good." I said. Deeks reached down his hand to help me up. I took it. But I immediately regretted that. A grasp of pain escaped my lips. "What's wrong" Deeks asked me as he furrowed his brow. "Nothing." I said as I looked away and stood up and started to walk away.

"Kensi, you good?" Callen asked me as I passed him. "I'm fine!" I hissed at him. Everybody at crime scene looked at me. I blushed, and suddenly I felt really small.
I quickly ran out of the area of the crime scene.

When I got two blocks away from the crime scene, I sat down by a brick wall. I placed my head in my lap and took a deep breath. I could hear and smell the ocean from here. The repeated rhythm of the waves slowly rolling up on the beach.

Suddenly I heard footsteps coming closer. I grabbed my gun.

Deeks strolled around the corner of the alley. "Hey, I know you're mad, but please don't shoot me!" He joked while he looked at my gun pointed at him.
I sighed and put my gun away.

"What is the matter?" Deeks asked as he sat down beside me. I sighed once again. "I'm just tired." I answered quietly. "Should we go home hon-bun?" Deeks teased me as he usually does. "Don't call me that." I said flatly. As the gentleman Deeks was, he reached down his hand to me. I didn't take it. "Oh, come on Kensi! What have I done wrong?!" Deeks asked clearly annoyed and offended.

"It's not because of you. It's my wri..." I stopped mid-sentence as I pulled up my sleeve to look at my wrist. It was black and blue. "Ouch." Deeks said as he looked at my wrist. "You should get that checked out." He said, as he turned me around by my shoulders, and started pushing me towards the crime scene, where the ambulance was.
Suddenly I felt dizzy. Everything started spinning around, faster and faster. The last thing I felt was Deeks's strong arms and his warm embrace.
